Yeah...get a few babies and raise them in a bubble.

Expose them to nice entertainment tv, nice people etc..

Then, start them playing video games. One set violent, one set non-violent. Place them both in a playground and see what they do.
non-violent would get pawned

This is (for me) America, and as long as violent games are generating as much $$$ as they do, most likely the situation will not change until some clear-cut, undisputable arguments arise.

There was a thing on GMA this morning, and if you notice, all they ever show on TV is the GTA-like games. nothing that actually requires skill.

Well of course violent games affect brain activity. Happy games with sunshine and puppies also affect brain activity, but generally creating a sleepy feeling instead of a sense of fun. Parents against violent games need to get off their collective lazy rears and start raising their children properly instead of blaming games.

Well i had to jump in on this post because you guys are not bashing each other about one another's views.

I guess i am also tired of seeing this brought up without any true scientific proof. Some people can handle the effects of violence and some can not. Just like in war you have those who run out to fight while a wall of bullets fly at them, and then you have those who cower in the bunker. Every human is different some more sensitive than others. I would say that blaming video games for violent outbursts is just becoming the standard response to deal with someone freaking out.

First off i would blame television programming as a whole. I mean i KNOW im not the only one here who sees a commercial with a battle or swat doing something. The moment i see it i want to go to my room and play some BF2. I used to be like that until i realized what was going on in MY opinion.

We are all feed what firstly makes game creators money but we are also allowed to be feed this because guess what everyone.... we have a military that is in dire need of more soldiers. As long as we need more soldiers to be lemmings in foreign countries video games won't get the ban ever. Money and power have yet to lose thus far.

Just like the girls in California, alot of them won't give you a chance if you are wearing a ribbon that says 1st place but they will if you have a raised truck with some big tires and talk like a total a$$hole, and treat them like dirt. This is because we are a product of our enviroment tv brainwashing included. What you see is what we all unfortunately get.

Its safe to say that the military is behind a lot of these games be funded to be made. There are things called "think tanks" where these jerk offs sit around all day coming up with clever ways to control a majority of the masses. Once i became open minded and smart enough to see how much of the violent type stuff they were funding i started to play less of everything. Sure i like to play some BF2 but i will live if i pass it up for months at a time.

Its just a simple way to brush of mindless violence. I agree with the poster who said we need to understand we are surrounded by it all day every day even without video games. FEAR is a control tactic is all, you keep people afraid they will listen to those in charge. the movie V for Vendetta was beautiful in showing this tactic.

Its not solely the video games fault but to me it is the mainstream media who poison's the masses and fills their little heads with so many insecurities. Girls who are the size of a twig think they are fat, its just this huge mess. But good things come from evil as much as i hate to say it. Seems like the only way a lot of human beings learn anything.

I leave you with some of my favorite quotes:

"Depression is the sign of a society that has failed us"-Sole
"We are all future Presidents we just don't know it yet"-Sole
"I say damn a magazine, these are gods fingerprints."-Brother Ali
