No momentum? The PS3 was the succesor to the highest selling console of all time. That's as much momentum as you can get. Not only that the PS3 project bled every single dollar of profit the PS2 made in it's entire lifetime. It is a failure in every sense of the word.

And that's exactly the mentality what's wrong with them.They just cannot shake their xenophobic island mentality. All the Japanese play is RPGs. There is little to no chance for Japanese indie devs to get their foot through the door.

Might be more powerful but will it be the console to buy? Honestly if I was buying a console it would be the 720 just because Live is way better then PSN IMO and lot of other peoples opinions.

Wasnt it supposed to be the same with the PS3, and technically it was faster but in actual games there was pretty much no difference...

I wonder how they got such exact number when there have been no announcements from either side...

I wonder which console is going to be released first? The 360 really pulled in a lot of customers by coming out before the PS3's late release.

I'd rather not get a console at all, the only amount of money that I'll put into getting a next gen console will be $20 in the stacker game, which is how I got my 360. If that fails there's always my bro-in-law who is an avid console gamer. To me I just can't justify putting hundreds of dollars in to a system that I'll only use for console exclusives. Instead that money will rightly go towards a nice upgrade(s).

Been to Japan? The term gamer there is not used with any positive connotation. In fact, its quite different from the culture here that has embraced gaming. To identify yourself as a gamer in Japan is not well received by people generally speaking. Shocking, I know, but its also true.
