[Shacknews] Dota 2 adds 'Least Played' mode - Page 2

The problem is you have characters like Drow who once you get the first point in her ult is just almost unstoppable, and her 3rd skill extends to the ENTIRE MAP? Then Zeus...who can pop an ult and attack every..single..person on the map at the same time. All anyone has to do is say such n such has so much health left and he's insta kill from across the map. Slark...god forbid you lane against him, jumps from a massive distance and traps you for so long that it's almost impossible to survive.

They need to worry about balancing these Heroes than they do putting in a mode that no one is going to use because everyone wants to use a hero they've practiced with.

Balancing those heroes? You're kidding right?

Those heroes are perfectly balanced. Heck, there's a reason PROS don't even consider using Drow ( Easily countered and squishy vs teams that use teamwork ), yet it's amusing to see pubs complaining about her.

Drow is easy to counter - harass her hard in laning phase. Do not let her farm. Same goes for Slark and ANY OTHER carry.

Focus ganks on their carries. If you let their carries get fed, it's your fault and you deserve to lose.

As for zeus.. I'm sorry but that's just hilarious. Zeus is one of the squishest heroes in the game and has ZERO escapes.

Dota 2 is balanced. You sound like someone that plays dota 2 solo. Use teamwork.

Drow is only a problem for low level games. I played Drow almost exclusively until I got into a higher tier. I would dominate all the noobs, once the competition caught up to me Drow was horrible to play because the other team knew they had to harass the heck out of me. Went from 80% win rate to under 50% once the competition caught up. Of course I was happy for this as Drow is total cheese. But It got me into better queues raping with her early(15 game win streaks etc). Now I can just random, and know my teammates are competent.

"Pros" don't use drow because she is banned in Tournament modes. She was seriously OP'd before they nerfed her Aura. All the ranged creeps(Catapults inc) would be doing 70+ dmg, it was horrible.

I play with my friends so theres 100% teamwork. Don't give me that crap about Zeus being squishy, it's irrelevant when he can just hide behind a tower and run away. It's easy to play him and not die. Just get to a certain level and he just sit in base and pop his ult when his teamates say they're almost dead and getting away

100% teamwork does not equal 100% competency. Seems you are lacking the latter. I never have problems with Zeus. I have 8 years of DOTA experience. Zeus is an annoying hero, but he does not stand out as a hero I hate to play against because he has a real high win rate.

If a hero bothers you, gank them. There's many heros that can make Zeus' life a living hell: Bounty Hunter, Riki, Nyx, Weaver, Anti-Mage, Lifestealer, Silencer.. the list goes on.

Teamwork doesn't just mean playing with your friends and communicating on chat/vent. It also means picking heroes that compliment each other and/or counter heroes on the other team.

Also you're making it out as if Zeus can just spam his ulti when it has a 2m CD.

I'd recommend spectating some high level games just to see that the game balance is fine. There are counters for everything,

You do it wrong, then. The fact that Zeus gets kills and not their carries is something GOOD for any team that has any regard to win. Zeus is useful up to mid-game, and then its totally useless unless you make him a disabler... and its not really a good build at all since he has no disable to start with, and his ultimate gets only useful to spot everybody around the map, but nothing else. In a competent team that has a Zeus in it, the Zeus player should try NOT TO GET A SINGLE KILL (that any other hero around could get, of course), precisely because late game he will be useless.

The hero that I consider a pure nuker although doesn't suck until really late game is Lina. Her spells have pretty low cooldown which means that you can harass all the time and she even has an AOE stun that proves very useful on teamfights, let alone his ultimate that does some real damage against enemy carry or int support should they be around. The problem with Lina is that their spells have really high damage... yep, that is a problem because you get more kills than you should, and sometimes it gets hard to damage the hero's enough but not kill them so your carry gets the necessary farm.

Regarding Drow... she is a pub-stomper, but only because there is no teamplay in pub-gaming. She is very fragile and lacks anything that will make teamfights easier... and also has no escape mechanism. Of course, she is a really easy to play hero in pubs because you just need to give her invisibility to go gank the solo roamers (silence and right-click to death) to farm decently and then rape all the other team... but it works for the same reason that most Rubick or Invoker players in pub games suck terribly: there are very easy hero's to play... and very hard ones. At a low level tier if you play with an easy hero you will stomp them, just as you rape with any invisibility based hero most of the time (Riki, Weaver, Bounty Hunter and Nyx. Clinkz is terribly squishy and is not very forgiving if you want to be useful in team fights), but when everybody knows how to decently play, Drow becomes a hero that is not that useful, since its a pure right-click hero that needs a terrible amount of farming and can be easily countered (stun = dead and invisibility at high-level tier is not really useful).
