DRM free isn't a sales creator.

Different DRM isn't a sales creator.

You won't hear a salesman recommend a game based on its DRM. Not even a gaming site would do that. Nobody relevant, actually cares.

The general public (aka the people who make the vast majority of game sales) don't give a damn about DRM.

Even with the hurricane of bad press Origin got at launch, Battlefield 3 still managed to be the most successful Battlefield in terms of sales. The next will probably be even bigger.

Just as the general public doesn't care about temps, overclocking or "must be 60 fps!" like our community tends to, they also don't care about DRM like our community tends to.
They actually do - the bugs that come along with it and it's equivalents (FBI/etc warnings on movies) get in their way as well. Whether they know what and why it's doing it is a different story.
DRM free isn't a sales creator?.. GoG anyone?

NEway. Playing the game and enjoying it. Can't wait for release.
Get mad at the companies using drm - it can't stop dedicated crackers and pirates, it just screws the buyer.

I neither read nor signed any NDA for this event.

DRM free is not a sales creator, no.

If DRM free was such a powerful force in the market, GoG would be the king.....but it isn't.....because Steam, a closed system centralized around DRM is the king.

You need to stop basing your real life perspective on things based on what you see from the small communities you hang around in on the internet.

The general public does not care about DRM when purchasing games.

Also, Diablo 3s DRM nerfed crackers and pirates. The old "the pirates get the best version, therefore no DRM" saying was smashed.

Right after confirming the download in Origin, another box popped up with a link to the NDA and a checkbox that needed checked stating that you read and agreed to the NDA. You couldn't have installed it without agreeing to the NDA, so whether you read it or not, you agreed to it whether you realize it or not. If you want to be obtuse and disingenuous about it, that's your deal, but everyone who participated in the beta did so under the condition of being bound by the NDA. Whether it will be enforced, or how severely it will be enforced is another matter.

Now that has to suck. Almost as much as not getting a key at all tongue.gif But it is possible that they will have another beta weekend in the near future. If not, the release is just over a month away so it will be here soon anyway thumb.gif
