So Im gonna get Corsair fans but i cant decide if i should buy 120SP Quiet or Performance fans when i got a fan controller, how silent can the performance version get with a fan controller?

(Got a Lamptron FC-8 Fan Controller) ive been reading and watching reviews hence why ive come to the conclusion that im gonna get corsair fans.

Mine are either off- or as fast and loud as they can get - but thats a preference/performance thing.
Your fan controller will make them go as slow as you want them to be.

Get the Performance ones.

Your fan controller can let the fans go from 0% to 100% speed.

The fans can only operate from 7V to 12V or 58% to 100%.

From personal experience (for 120mm fans):
much noise = 1800rpm+
some noise = 1300rpm - 1700rpm
near silent = 1200rpm-

Performance: 2350rpm max.
Quiet: 1450rpm max.

I would go with Quiet fans with no fan controller, but with the fan controller you can turn the Performance fans down to 58% speed or 1363rpm.

And that's only if you can go that low. You may be able to go lower.

So at the very least, you can turn your Performance fans down 100rpm lower than the Quiet ones, so there is no reason to get the quiet ones.

The performance pack comes with a voltage limiter adapter and you can put it in-line and it'll lower the rpm of the fans...go high performance!
