It's not CoD.
I played the RU beta last summer(?), and I'm playing this. While the PVP element is essentially CoD, the co-op is actually pretty cool. Basically you can get a team of 5, and you fight through a few levels (iirc some missions have 3-4 levels). There's classes (assault, medic, engineer, sniper), each with their own IMPORTANT abilities. Assault can give ammo to teammates (you WILL need it), medics can heal and rez downed players (NO health regen), engineers can repair armor (NO armor regen), and snipers (they suck - they snipe).
There's some boss-fights as well, like helis (annoying), heavy gunners (really annoying). Each mission has a random side-goal (Kill 30 with pistols, 10 with nades, etc.) which give you bonus (usually 10%) XP and "money", which is used to buy and unlock gear.
Weapons can be customized in real time (i.e. like Crysis). Before the start of a mission/PVP match, you pick a thing to use your XP to unlock - weapons, armor or attachments. After a while, you unlock them (usually takes a few matches - better gear needs more XP).
IMO: Stay away from PVP, it's generic trash. The co-op is actually pretty fun, provided you have a half-competent team. As for the whole P2W idea, I dont THINK it's like that. In co-op it sure isn't, and in PVP you can wreak face using stock gear. The paid gear IS better, but it's not a whole new level or anything.
Only issue right now: BUGS. EVERYWHERE.Edited by doomlord52 - 1/18/13 at 1:39pm
