GTX680 (bios) issue's

Thread Starter
I am running a GTX680 for some time now. Two days ago i flashed the bios of the card. But it didnt go as it should. I got mayor errors.
But now when i try to change the bios to the default bios file it also gives me an error. I can see the GPU in the device manager, but it gives a "!". GPU-Z shows one PCIe 16x3.0 and one 16x1.1.

I've changed back and forward to different nVidia drivers. But nothing seems to work.
I completely reinstalled Windows. No changes.
I allso updated the motherboard BIOS.
If i flash it, it gives me a screen full of stripes.

This is what i get with GPU-Z

When i flash the default bios, i dont get info at GPU-Z at all..

Any input to figure this one out?

Try another flashing method. I use nvFlash to flash in Windows.

Let me know if you need so instructions on how to do it?

I use nvflash in DOS. Would there be any advantage to do it in windows?

Just a different method to try. Maybe it will work, maybe not?

nvflash --protectoff
nvflash -4 -5 -6 yourbiosname.rom

Y to override the diff type

Y to proceed with the flash

Try that with the non 3A bios and see how you go.

Its not uncommon to need matching BIOSes to run SLI well without issues. It can be picky in that way so if you flashed one card with the 3A and left the other with what it had out of the box, you might expect some issues.

What does NVFLASH say exactly when you use the commands I posted above and you flash the original BIOS back on?

Oh and if you have both cards in you'll need to designate PCI-E slots with i=1 and i=2 or similar. View your installed devices with nvflash to see what it calls them.

I know. The top one is 0 and the bottom one is 1.
I flashed both cards to the same bios offcourse. I am using nvflash for some time now and i never had issues. Thats what's so frustrating.
When i flash it says the flash was succesfull.

Tomorrow i'll take the WC setup apart and flash them seperately. See how that works out.

Okay..So i took apart my WC setup in order to flash both cards seperately. I can flash one card to any bios with no issues. Though the other one i cant flash what so ever. If i flash it, it gives me a screen full of stripes.
