As I recall the youtube videos have them playing at something 768. Been awhile since I checked, I'll try and find it.

*edit* one was at 1440x900, but that was singleplayer.

An A10-5800k is a decent CPU/GPU combination if your first task is NOT gaming. If you're going to be serious about gaming, spend $150+ and get yourself a decent GPU. The 7660D is ok, but it's not going to be the best gaming chip.

BF3 will run fine at low settings and 720P. That's about it. If you try and crank the settings past that, expect the framerate drop to be noticeable. Also, make sure you get some 1866mhz memory. The more bandwidth your memory has, the faster the GPU will perform (to an extent).

I am a PC enthusiast, I personally own the A10-5800k AND I game on it daily. Here's what I play and what settings I play on. I use 12.11 Beta Drivers, have yet to test performance in these games w/ 13.1.

League of Legends - 1920 x 1080, MAX settings, 60FPS CONSTANT (VSync)

Far Cry 3 - 1920 x 1080, LOW DX9 settings, 30-40 FPS, some drops as low as 20FPS

Batman Arkham City - 1920 x 1080, HIGH DX9 settings, 45+ FPS on average, very fluid gameplay, no major frame drops.

Team Fortress 2 - 1920 x 1080, MAX settings, Extremely fluid gameplay, no major frame drops.

Counter-Strike:GO - 1920 x 1080, MAX settings, Extremely fluid gameplay, no major frame drops.

Counter Strike:Source - 1920 x 1080, MAX settings, Extremely fluid gameplay, no major frame drops.

Crysis Warhead
- 1920 x 1080, "Gamer/High" settings, about 40FPS on average, playable, no noticeable drops.

My rig before this rig...believe it or not was a Core i7 3820, HD 7870 touting beast of a machine. However, I realized it was COMPLETE overkill for what I do with my computers, so I downgraded to my current system. Sure, it won't max Metro 2033, but it gets me along just fine thumb.gif

1) I wouldn't stress out too much about graphics. A lot of games still look good at lower settings ( I could put BF3 on Ultra without much AA and get decent enought framerates if I wanted to but I don't since I don't notice the extra visual fidelity when I'm in the thick of it, I just tone it down and enjoy the stutter free gameplay)
That said, don't expect BF3 Multiplayer (which is harder to run than Singleplayer, which most reviews test) to run well @ 1080p on that 7660D. Playable? perhaps but it won't be smooth.
Other, older games will run better. It really depends on the games you want to play. BF3 is just a bit of "the" game benchmark at the moment IMHO.

2) As others have said: if you really want to game, get a discrete GPU. But then I wonder: why bother with the APU?
For a tad bit more you could put an FX6300 in there (or an Intel core i3). I would go with the FX6300 in that price-range. (much more fun to overclock as well thumb.gif )

For the most part those are solid games. Except they're a tad older. Tends to be a little less graphic intensive than games. Not sure what OP plays.

They're all relevant. I don't see how they're "Older"

League of Legends was released in 2011 and is updated weekly, CS:GO is less than a year old, Arkham City was released in 2011, Far Cry 3 is brand spanking new, and CS:S/TF2 are still played A LOT. Those are games that are generally always being played, rather than games such as Metro 2033 where you play the campaign then rarely touch it.
