RAM for < £155?

Thread Starter
OK so my dad should be ordering my computer very soon.. but I'm just wondering about the RAM..

Currently, I'm going for this kit.. I have 2 questions.

1) Will these modules overclock nicely? (Looking to get an E6300 to ~3GHz hopefully)
2) If not, can you link me to some modules that WILL overclock nicely, that are under £155 (inc. vat)? I'd much prefer a 2gb kit if it's possible.

Cheers guys! Reps for help

That might be a push to get the E6300 to 3.0GHz with that RAM on 1:1. Likely need a divider.

What do you expect that I'd be able to get with that RAM? At 1:1?

And would running a divider severely reduce performance?

You can order RAM off ebay from America for dirt cheap compared to UK prices.

Hmm.. well I'd rather not do that tbh.

I just want the best RAM I can get for that price range

Anyone else have any input? Also about the performance between running a divider and using 1:1?

I find that on my system the performance is much better when you run the pc at 1:1. I had my ram @ ddr 1200 and my cpu @ 2.8ghz and the performance increase was almost non existant. It actually went faster when I had the ram @ 800 to match the fsb.

If you change the divider to something else, the memory will be clocked lower than the rest of the computer, so it would be limiting the OC. Memory is very important to performance (as you might have noticed when increaing the amount you have), so it being slower would really hurt.
