I ran benchies..
  1. CPU @ 3.0GHz, FSB @ 333MHz, RAM @ DDR2 667 (effective speed)
  2. SuperPi 1.0MB: 17.047 seconds; 3DMark06 CPU score: 2617 (did not run full 3DMark06; was in a hurry... LOL)
  3. CPU @ 3.0GHz, FSB @ 333MHz, RAM @ DDR2 1000 (effective speed)
  4. SuperPi 1.0MB: 16.734 seconds; 3DMark06 CPU score: 2636.
See screenshots below. Conclusion: yes there is a difference, but not in all situations.
