The sales weren't amazing, but they aren't as low as many people here seem to be assuming.
I don't think MS is expecting sales to go up from this... however they may have realized that most of the people buying windows 8 are building a new PC or something, and will buy the newest windows almost regardless of the cost... in that case this is win-win for microsoft.
