Do you really need to mess with settings for hours like that so often that it's become the norm for you?

I've had more than my fair share of computer issues, but come on, PC games with issues are certainly the exception rather than the rule. I have a Steam library of over 300 games, and I think I could count on 2 hands the games that I've had any sort of issue with.

I love CPU Gaming because i play at 1440p and even in 3D Vision. But on the first person shooter games there are to many hackers and cheats. i cant enjoy a game when people are doing this. I just hooked my Xbox 360 up to my ASUS VG278H 27" 120mhz monitor and i was dominating last night! i was a consistant 1.5 to 1. 7 K/D ratio. Its a big jump the input times from my samsung HD TV to the Asus.

IMO, they will target a max 500$ or they will sell a high end console at a loss. if they release killing games like uncharted 4, a msg or other good game, they might have a chance

Going a little off topic here, but... I think the problem with the Vita is there are no games for it... I'd love to buy it, but the games just aren't out there yet. It actually disappoints me that it isn't being supported. It's a powerhouse for a handheld... still wish they would get rid of the touch screen / touch pad gimmick crap. If I wanted to play Angry Birds, I'd use a tablet or my 'smart' phone.

The reason why the vita is not doing so good is because of lack of games not the price tag.

games like final fantasy, gran turismo, GTA, suikkoden, dirt 3, and many more are missing.

heck if vita has GTA 4/san andreas or gran turismo 5, I would buy one instantly

I'm not really sure what people were expecting graphics-wise?

The ps2-ps3 jump was impressive, however, IMHO, I think gfx improvements aren't going to be leap and bounds from year to year anymore. It seems visual quality is now at the point were it is improvement in the smaller things. Lighting, shadows, debris. Those things.

Until, we have a new style of interface or a radical change in 3D drawing(voxels?) that is not prohibitively expansive for mass use, it will be inch by inch.

IMHO

So we cannot compare PC's to consoles yet half your post is on why you think consoles are cheaper/more convenient than PC's. thumb.gif

Personally, owning a PC is just as much a hobby as gaming on said PC. If you think your PC is little more than a console with mouse+keyboard attached, remind yourself what site you are on, you may be in completely the wrong place.

Reading reviews + watching videos regarding hardware.
Having a large array of hardware to choose from.
Content production (work/art/entertainment).
Having specialized hardware (go render CAD on your PS3, please) suited to different markets based on user needs.
Building a computation system by oneself. You use your brain, you learn, you understand.
Tweaking settings to suit your personal tastes.
Modifying PC hardware.
Modifying PC software.

Those are just some of the reasons a PC is better than a console. Any of the above that can be done by a console, a PC can do better.
A console requires less money and less brains.

I am a conceited elitist. I am a PC enthusiast.

Sadly, that seems to be a trend these days among PC enthusiasts. It's a sad day indeed when one can have a more engaging conversation about technology with an Apple lover than hearing the same tired lines coming from a PC lover

Where in my post did I equate a console with the entirety of a PC? And that the console was better than a PC in it's entirety?

I said a console was a good deal for only $400, and gaming PC's, while more powerful, cost alot more to improve on graphic fidelity.

Thank you for getting it.

I have a gaming PC and a console. I tend to play the console more, as when I on my PC gaming is the last thing on my mind.

IF I want a fluid experience and enjoy time with my friends IN PERSON, we'll use a console. You narrow-mindedness makes you look conceited, just as you said...only to be outdone by somebody else's PC

I completely agree that consoles and PC's can exist in the same world at the same time. I stated at the end of my troll/rant that I am conceited as this was exactly what people would expect from someone who thinks PC > consoles in every situation forever until the end of time. This is not who I am, this is who I was representing, conceited PC elitists. I live in the 3rd world country where enthusiast PC hardware does not exist. Owning a PC has never been a penis extension for me. The day my mouse arm (right) gives out from PC gaming, I will most likely switch to console gaming.

Phil~

"Where in my post did I equate a console with the entirety of a PC? And that the console was better than a PC in it's entirety?". Let's leave the semantics alone, please. You know what I was getting at and it was not this.

Half of you original OP is just digs at the PC industry. Components cost too much; benefits for gaming do not scale well with cost; the professional GPU market is artificial; everything one cannot do on a console can be done on a $100 PC, etc etc. These claims are all mostly true, making them perfect ammunition for a console fan in a PC vs. Console debate.

I responded with (equally weak and biased) arguments from the other side of the fence. Arguments that a typical "PC MASTER RACE" individual would put forward. You made generalized statements about the realities of Consoles versions PC's with yourself as a convenient demographic "middle-man" who can speak for all. No, you did not say/type that, you just made it a clear possible conclusion to be drawn from your OP. For example, you would be just fine with a $100 PC and console, that does not make you the mean average, but hell it makes for a good Console vs. PC argument, doesn't it? Of course it does, I'm arguing it right now.

Look, neither of us are Luddites. Neither of us believe that one is better than the other in every situation (do not quote my OP, I've already stated why those arguments were not genuine). There should be no apples to apples comparison as both devices are built to serve to very different primary purposes. At the heart of it, consoles were built for gaming and PC's were built for productivity tasks.

If the day ever comes where I feel a controller is better than mouse+keyboard for the majority of games that I want to play, I will downscale my PC to a workstation and purchase a console.
I am not a PC fanboy, I am not a console hater. I AM someone who is not a fan of speaking for a large group of people using little more than generalizations (okay, no more personal jabs).

Regardless of all this, you will probably never read anything I type again. I've most likely said something that you consider grounds for ignoring anything I say from this point onward.

Have a good day! thumb.gif

And then they'd have nothing to show at E3.

Seriously, a 2 hour presentation with a detailed look at a few games along with a (albeit not too detailed) reveal of system specs, AND the new Dualshock 4 four months before E3 and you're throwing a fit because they didn't show what the case looks like?

Give me a break...
