Quality 70mm fan for MSI Twin Frozr II?

Thread Starter

So I won a MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II OC in a contest with no fans but it works fine. I've checked Newegg for 70mm fans but they all look cheaply made and loud. Does anyone know where I can get quiet, good quality 70mm fans? I can do 75mm too, but no bigger. I tried an 80mm fan but it won't fit.

Thanks!

this one looks good in my book...

3400rpm is going to be loud as hell... much louder than the 33dba listed... hopefully you are going to be controlling the speed of these fans..

I have the exact same card. One of the fans is going out on it. I'm planning to get a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186052 for the card instead of replace the fans or send it in for warranty service. Fairly cheap through January 31, and others elsewhere have reported that the cooler works on the 6950 Twin Frozr II.

I recommended it to the op in another thread but he said he didn't have enough to cover it. The fans from frozencpu would probably be the best option(price wise for the op) but even then it will be more than half the cost of the twin turbo 2 with shipping and won't perform as well.

That's your best option ... it's going to be cooler and quieter than replacing fans

I think I'll just get that if it's still $40 when it comes back in stock. Is it really that good compared to the stock Twin Frozr II heatsink? I thought the Twin Frozr heatsinks were some of the best you could get.

Thanks for the help! I repped all of you.

Lol, my rig is silent, I don't want to ruin that. biggrin.gif

Edit: Does anyone know if the Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme 5870 will fit on the MSI R6950 Twin Frozr II? mwave has it for $40 and it looks much better than the Twin Turbo II if it'll work.
