SATA 3 Controller or New Motherboard? - Page 2

So now that I'm thinking about it more.. my read speeds are not going to be significantly higher than the SSD drive that I have right now (Intel X-25M 80GB 1st Gen.), if I will be running a new SSD on SATA 3gbps speeds. Obviously the write speeds will be a lot better on a new drive, but really I will not be writing a lot of files to the drive ALL THE TIME. Is it really worth it to drop the cash on a new drive if say I will only be getting a ~20-50mbps increase in read speed? Wouldn't it be better just to buy another Intel X-25M 80GB SSD and run them in RAID? The Intel I have right now is about 1 year old, I know if one drive fails then you can't access anything at all.. Would this be the better route for me right now?

If it is easier for you to run 2 in raid 0 do it. If you want a single drive then upgrade. RAID 0 should be cheaper.
