P.S. PWM control could reduce the output, but adds cost.
Reading more into those LEDs, I don't think they need any resistors. Just attach to 12v and go.

PWM doesn't reduce the output. The effective voltage (the average value of the squarewave) is lower, but it still gives the full voltage during the on time of the pulse.
