Mac G5 case mod ideas

Thread Starter
So I got a G5 tower for free a little while ago, so I've been thinking about how I want to mod it and want to toss out some ideas and get some feedback to see how viable people think it is. In the long run, I want to do a water cooled G5 mod, but right now I'm just working on the mods I can afford.

Here's what I have so far for my idea (and I have to say, Sketchup is a massive pain to use, I should have just drawn it by hand on graph paper):

The light blue is the 240mm radiator, green is the PSU, yellow the HDD bay, white the mobo tray, pink the mobo, dark blue the resevoir, orange the pump, and burgundy a fan controller.

What I was thinking of doing is creating, in essence, a PSU shroud that the PSU screws into with a hole cut at the top for the fan. The shroud would make it a lot easier to mount the PSU in the case, would look a lot cleaner than some of the ways I've seen them mounted in, and it would allow me to mount the HDD cage I want to fab onto it.

Since I want a radiator in the front, I was planning on fabricating a HDD cage roughly 5.5" wide. Depending on how much room I have, I would either mount the radiator and fans on the outside of the cage or mount the radiator on the inside and the fans on the outside. Since it's just a simple U shape, I would just drill holes in the side that I then could mount drive sleds on.

I was also thinking it would be nice to replace the ODD with a fan controller. If I need an ODD, it's no big deal to figure out a way to add a slim one later, but the fan controller there would hide it, but also give me easy access to the knobs up front, I'd just need to rig a way to make the door easier to open from the outside.

For the motherboard tray, I was planning on doing a white acrylic mATX tray and backlighting it with LEDs, maybe even framing it off so it has a more even glow like a glow panel does.

Up top, I will have the reservoir, something small like this, this, or this and the pump mounted on the original G5 pump block. I'll drill some holes for the tubing to go through and install a fillport in the top for the res.

Since I'd be individually sleeving the PSU cables, I was thinking of mounting little brackets in the case cable management. I'm not sure how easy they would be to make, partially because I'm not sure if I'll be able to get access to some of the tools that would make it easier, but I was thinking of doing something like this

where I'd figure out how I want the cables routed, then JB weld the bracket in place that the comb like part will then screw into to hold the cables in place.

Any input or ideas would be great.

Looks fine to me, but you seem to have a lot of space up top. Why not put some HDD's up there? I fit my SSD and my 3.5" HDD next to and above the dvd drive.
Your PSU can also be placed in that space, there's just enough room. I cut out some holes to let air into the PSU.
I don't know what your spacing plans are but if you have fans up against the front holes it will make a lot more noise from rushing through the holes. 1cm of spacing greatly reduces noise.
