Water cooling new setup

Thread Starter
I am looking for imput on water cooling parts

Looking for a complete build setup for the following

1. Water block for Amd 8150 fx bulldozer
Water block for 2 x ATI 7870 xfx core editions
2. Triple Radiator and fans please put make and modles of fans as there is alot of choice out there
3. Water Pump
4. Resovoir in bay or tubes
5. Tubing and conectors
6. Case to put it all in i have all the hardware I dont want any new parts for the computer it self i just need imput on the water cooling setup and what people have found works good for price and reliability and where to get it

So in your post please tell me in an orginzed way please what parts and where you can get them from online preferably and price is a factor as im not going to be stupid with money i am looking for a performace to price comparison and choose from there as you can get a more user freindly part for more money but loose some performance or the other way around not so user freindly but better price and performance.

Dont be shy i am not on a buget at this time for this i am still looking and am going to determine what works and what is avalible for this and i am not starting to build until march- april and i may be modding a case straight up for this as i have the time and tools to make a mod case i am looking to make a awsome system not the best but awsome none the less. the computer i have right now is the start of the build look at my current rig and most of these parts are going to be in the case some parts are going to be new but the video cards are staying as i am not going any bigger they are working good and will do the trick till the next build.

Also factor that i want maintace freindly as i dont really want to tear the water cooling system right aprt just to change out a part that breaks or the unthinkable happens and i get a leak lol fingers crossed.

Well that is all i can think about right now thanks in advance and game on

the best place to start, is the case. we cant recommend a case. cases are very much personal preference.

do you want everything to fit inside? so for example a case that can fit a triple radiator internally?

i wouldnt water cool 7870s... i would sell them and use the money i was going to use to water cool them and put it towards a better single card solution. you can get $200 - $220 for each of your 7870s, and i would get a 680 used for $420 off the OCN market and call it a day. i bought my 680 off craigslist for $350.

unless you are water cooling to simply quiet down your system. if you are looking for more performance, invest in better hardware.

Better hardware? LOL
Forgive Sean for he is obviously a hard core Intel/nVidia fanboy tongue.gif

Your rig is just fine and we can do a good WC set up with what you got. I'll give you a hand however my AMD/Ati knowledge is limited because I run Linux, not windoze so I'm pretty much stuck with Intel related products. frown.gif

Okay, Sean is right about the case thought. You should tell us what case we gotta work with here. Are you wanting to WC in your present case or are you willing to get a case specificly designed for WC?

Those can be expensive tho. The Mountain Mod cases and the Caselabs cases are where it's at. The Caselabs cases are the best but at a price. I suggest you look at the Merlin series if you go the CL way.

Cheers cheers.gif

But in this instance,he is correct,a single high end GPU is better than multiple lower end GPU solutions.

Especially with AMD,that chipset is laughable,AMD do not do well in a multi GPU config.

This is the case i am ordering as it is setup to water cooling out the top but i may have to go with a double rad only as a triple would not fit in this case but the trade off is the air flow and the cable managment system as well as the case is what will work in my desk area it has wheels and i did look at the other cases that you suggested and yeah nice but my wife would have a bird if i had a case like that and my cat would take some of thoose cases as a invitation to lay on and get warm lol but mabey in a few years ill get one of thoose Case lab cases i love thoose they are pricey but beautyful have to wait for that. Little more then what i need at this time. But i am also thinking adding a single rad or a second Dual in this for the Video cards there is lots of room i am going to wait for it to show up and take some good looks at the case to see what room there really is once you get some of the hardware and water cooling stuff in it as the video reveiws show you alot but i like things in my hands so i can see what you can really fit in there thumb.gif

Punctuation is your friend.

I have a soft spot for AMD too but im aware of their limitations, multi GPU being the main issue.
Go to coolingcofigurator.com and see if your XFX cards are ref or not,Im guessing not as XFX have a habit of deviating from the ref layout.

If you are happy with your setup and its all bought then im happy for you.

Well, the most important part of a water cooling loop is the radiators. How many rads pretty much determines how well you loop will cool your components. And really, without case, we cant tell if the rads are.going to fit, or how many you can fit in your case.
