RAID 0 Question

Thread Starter
I just finished building my computer and I have a RAID 0 setup with 2 WD 10k Raptors. After installing FEAR Combat, FEAR Single-player, FFXI, and Test Drive Unlimited, I slowly but surely see my storage space decreasing. Is it possible to add another Raptor to my already existing RAID 0 setup without losing my data?

Thanks in advance.

I dont believe so. You should just pop in a cheaper, larger hard drive for your normal data and such, and run the OS and games strictly from raptors. Just my two cents.

No, you'll have to format all three drives using RAID. The reason being, when you format or partition the drives, the RAID array sees the two drives and splits up data among the drives. Windows sees one drive. Adding a third drive to an existing array cannot be done because the array won't recognize it.

you can do it!!!

1)first get norton save and restore, make an image onto a seperate dvd or borrow someones hd to perform this.
2)install the backup softare and perform a full system backup
3)install your 3rd raptor, create the new raid array using 3 hd.
4)pop in the save and restore cd, reboot off the cd, hit f6 to load raid drivers. restore your pc.

congrats, you just added a hd to your raid while keeping your original load. plus you wont have to register and download all of your programs again!
