Battlefield 3 Gulf of Oman Sniper Montage - Input?

What's going on everyone. I've been devouring my free time lately with BF3 and I decided to learn a little Adobe Premier in the process. This is the first montage I've ever made, its a little rough around the edges, it took me a good while to find a decent screen capture utility that worked well with Nvidia Surround) but I'm pretty happy with the end result.

I think some of these kills really aren't montage worthy and some of the video quality should have never made the final cut but there will be more down the road to redeem myself.

I'd really like to get everyone's input and see where I can improve next time around. Thanks in advance.

Whats up doc. Long time no talk to. Those are some crazy long distance shots! Very nice. I dont produce any montages myself, but this has to be my favorite BF3 sniper montage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTIsSVr5XkQ This guy somehow edited the shots to go with the music. Hairs where standing on my arms.

Ah you're still around? We should play some games together!

Origin: MisterPWN

Not bad for a first video. 'Interesting' music choice, but it wasn't to obnoxious thumb.gif Probably about as good as a long distance sniper vid can be, unless you really wanted to go crazy and time shots to music, or throw in some other clips with it.

How is it to work with Premiere? I need to find a video editing tool and learn it, so I can process some of my clips... About 500gb of footage I should clean out haha.

Great shots... and like mentioned above... the syncing of shots with the music does add some extra... little coolness to it.

GJ though! thumb.gif

wow that is really quite the video, very impressive. I'm more of the sit and camp type of sniper but this really makes me want to take the fight to the streets wink.gif

for sure, I'll add you on origin right after I finish posting

Premiere takes a little bit of a learning curve, I looked at a few youtube videos to pick up the basics and the rest I'm doing with trail and error. I really like how well it integrates with photoshop and after effects to really refine your videos. but they really couldn't make it easier to cut and trim videos and add transitions. plus it has a wide variety of hot keys to really facilitate actions

Honestly, the hardest part is to go through your footage and find the clips you want to incorporate.

Also, the music, for those Far Cry 3 players out there, is a reference to the mission where you burn up the pot fields after you meet up with the CIA operative. Its probably the best mission I've played in a game outside of Crysis Warhead and the music really fits in well while you are playing.

Thanks! As I develop my skills I'll definitely try sync music to the montage. I came across the soundtrack to Black Mesa and some of those songs might find their way into one of my videos. I kind of rushed this video for the sake of completing it but next time I'll be a lot more scrupulous with the clips I select.

Once again, thanks everyone!

don't get me wrong, I like Arma 2 and Love DayZ but Battlefield 3 is the most fluid game I have ever played

well. that's why it's a game instead of a mil-sim biggrin.gif in ARMA2 you'd have to be prone and really sight your shots or it wont land smile.gif from the vid it looks like you have the skills to play ARMA2 that's why i suggested it. it far more impressive to see those shots in ARMA2 then BF3 because BF3 is still much more of a "game" then ARMA2
