Hey fellas, I'm having a little trouble getting my RAM to hit 2133Mhz which is what the RAM is rated to, it's Patriot Viper Black Mamba 2x 4gb, I bought it coz of the name haha.. Actually i'm lieing, anyway, the mb is only recognizing it as 1600 even though I've changed it in the bios and adjusted the timings & voltage to 1.51 etc..

Hoping one of you guys may have run in to the same issue and found a fix?

Here is the system build if it helps.
AMD A10-5800k @ 4.6MHz
MSI FM2-a85xa-g65 (I saw the MSI trash thread ...don't hurt me)biggrin.gif
Patriot Viper 2 x 4gb
Samsung 840 120gb SSD
1TB WD Black
Antec 620w Neoeco PSU
Evo 212 Cooler + case fans

I've never registered here before as I always found fixes on here before I needed to type anything so ahh cheers for helping me in the past as well cheers.gif

Will post more info if needed

Body:)

Have you flashed the motherboard BIOS up to the very latest. High RAM speeds are only recently beginning to work well in most motherboards, so it's likely your motherboard vendor either hasn't yet released a BIOS to support that speed or did so recently.

No worries. I did the exact same thing with my Extreme4 and 2400Mhz RAM. I tried for about a month to get them booting at that speed before I thought to update BIOS wink.gif

Glad you got it working
