Ok, so this is the Llano result. This time v4.2 behaved correctly in CPB Mode and allowed me to run at what I call 'midstock' of 3000MHz for the Llano. I was also allowed access to the usual range of OC up to beyond 3700MHz.

I would say it is worrying that OCing in Trinity is not being allowed up past 4500 when Prime95 is running over 4800 and CPUZ is allowing validation over 5000MHz.

In terms of the result, however - well we always knew Llano could hold its own against Trinity on Floating Point ops - but I still say something is holding Trinity back here.

Incidentally, I ran my stock tests with VRM settings at default and my OCs with them set at Extreme.

turbo enabled?

EDIT:

doesn't it has to be 19sec in multithreaded test from a8 3870k, and not 29? Because then there's no other factor where trinity should score lower.

On the Asus FM1/FM2 boards 'turbo' is called Core Performance Boost (CPB).

As for the results, I think you'll agree the worksheet shows their consistency.

Okey, I see it. It seems that the real problem for the a10 is the fast integer..

Truth be told, yes! ;-)

Also,

Remember Bulldozer / Piledriver only have one FPU per module. So that A10 in question here only has 2 FPUs.

But... That shouldn't hurt integer performance much, unless a FPU instruction get sent through the Pipe while its working...

Can we find someone with a 4300 chip to compare results? Should be same tech to a A10 trinity...

Added:

Also when dealing with integer performance on AMD new Arch, be sure the test is on win7 with patches applied or win8. The patches can greatly effect the integer performance by up to 15%.

And on that note, I think I might have stumbled across the cause of the 4 core anomaly. I think It might be C6 power gating. I think portions of the module are Idle stating causing limited throughput. This would explain, the cores being utilized correctly (on thread per module) but the scores not adding up sometimes in random fashion.

I've had the 4 thread portion of the bench only loading 2 or 3 cores during some of the runs on my Vishera. The scores would be reduced by the appropriate amount depending on how many cores it was using.
Never really understood why it was doing it, but it was at settings that passed the multithread test, so I was thinking instability probably wasn't the problem.
I wouldn't have noticed it but I was running core temp while running the test and it revealed what was going on .
