Battlefield 3 PC game (Disk and case included) - Page 4

I don't plan to upgrade, I'll stick with Windows 7 because gaming world still need the OS.

I'm in and thanks!

In,

I purchased Windows 8 for $15 when they had the deal for recent PC buys with windows 7. I installed windows 8 on my computer and I actually really liked it. I feel that windows 8 has some real potential. However, when I could not play any of my games I decided it was not yet ready. When I am sure that I am able to play all of my games, then I will switch back to windows 8.

On a side note I feel like Rep is difficult to get. It's difficult for me to put too much breathtaking input anywhere that justifies rep, and this sadly prevents me from some benefits of this site.

So thank you for making the requirement only 1 rep.

I don't plan to upgrade to Windows 8. The 7 works just fine with me and I really do not want to bother about stability, bugs and such.

I just reinstalled windows 7 and I am happy with my start menu. With the exception of 7 I have learned to allow Microsoft OS's to mature a little bit, for security and compatibility reasons before crossing over and I just don't think i'll mesh well with the Metro UI.

Thanks for the giveaway!

I have a dual boot Win7 and Win8 computer and have found myself drifting back to Win7, mainly because I am too lazy to migrate all of my applications to Windows 8, but otherwise, Win8 is a pretty good OS.

And I don't want the CD or Case, thanks though!

I'd like to be in on this.

in regards to W8. I made the upgrade purely out of curiousity. I own a Windows Phone and really wanted the integration. Once upgraded I've noticed a bunch of benefits...some trivial, some not so trivial. For $40 it was worth it as there was really no down side other than a learning curve( just getting used to some changes. Benefits may vary based on expectation. I really like the way mail and contacts are integrated into the OS along with social media like FB and Twitter. Skype runs in the background...really unnoticeable. The messaging app is really cool. My girlfriend has W8 on her laptop(old Dell 1525) so she loves to be able to message me from her laptop. I receive the messages on my PC and my phone...so I'm always at her finger tips. Some might loath this idea, but I suggest that the issue is not with the message capability wink.gif Desktop mode is where I spend most of my time and it runs just like W7 and is faster. I have yet to find a software compatibility issue. Once you find all the shortcuts getting around the PC is really quick. In short, before this gets too long. there are some benefits to W8, it's not a manditory upgrade...but I really didn't like going back to W7 on my second HDD(dual boot). But best wishes whatever you choose.

BTW if you are on anything older than W7...I strongly suggest the upgrade.

EDIT: The NEWEGG W8 app is awesome! Its actually easier to shop on the app than it is their site!

Don't plan on upgrading to windows 8. Don't really like the whole 'Post-pc' look of it all. Heard mixed review though.

I will not be upgrading to Windows 8 for at least another year or so. I am happy with Windows 7 and I was so annoyed when I installed Winodws 8 for a friend on their new PC that I built because I had to find drivers and flash the BIOS. It just felt like more hassle than worth it. Also, I am not a huge fan of the lack of a start button and the only reason I would like the Metro set up would be if I had a tablet or something like that with a touch screen. Thanks for the giveaway!

Currently testing Windows 8 more and more under a virtual machine. I got used to Metro and the UI oddities awhile ago. The performance increases are nice but not enough for a full switch of my desktop.

I have W8, only bearable with Start8. Start up and shut down times have decreased and overall speed increased with a high end system.
