The taipan is a laser mouse. No thanks.

Own and have used both. The Deathadder is significantly better from an overall "proper sensor tracking" perspective. The laser sensor on the Taipan can't compete.

That being said, keep in mind that they are different shapes entirely, and one may fit your grip better or more comfortably.

If you like the 3g/3.5g Deathadder you'll love the 4g.

Best thing Razer has done.

How is the scroll wheel on the Deathadder 2013 compared to the Taipan? Is it tighter like the sensei? Also, how is the build quality compared to the Taipan? Really curious because I've never used an optical mouse for gaming. I have only used lasers all my life.

I find my scroll wheel on the DA to be pretty loose. It's my jump button in game and I've tended to accidentally jump many times recently. Lol.

Build quality is similar to the Taipan, as is the texture of both the rubber grips and the mouse shell.

If you like the shape of the DA 2013, you can't go wrong.

Yeah I returned my Taipan for the DA 2013 and it's the best mouse I've ever used.

Alright lets get this settled. The taipan is not comfortable unless u have small hands. The response times is faster than the DA but the tracking from the laser isnt. You wouldnt be using 8200 dpi cuz its ridiculously hard to control. U wouldnt want to pass 5600 dpi. The taipan is also more precise overall but i go with the da cuz its more comfortable, reliable and u wouldn't need high dpi when playing COD . Taipan isnt worth it so buy the new DA
