I'm a believer!

Thread Starter
Well, after about six months or so without touching my PS3 after building my PC I was bored so decided to hop on and play a little bit. I started up MW3 (not the best looking game I know) and my first thought was "Do I have the graphics on low?". I honestly couldn't believe how bad it looked. I remember when I first got an HDTV to hook up my PS3 to I was amazed at how nice it looked, now I can't believe I ever settled for it. Also, to make sure I wasn't just thinking they were bad to justify switching to PC I booted up MW3 for PC as well and it was a completely different game. Everything on PS3 looked horribly textured and almost blurry at times.

I'm not trying to bash consoles as it was still fun to play, and the graphics probably are pretty good to someone who doesn't know better. Heck, they were to me before I knew. tongue.gif The main thing that surprised me was how completely different they were while playing the same game on the same tv.

That's about where I am. I doubt the "next-gen" console will be able to provide an experience that rivals higher-end ($1500+) PC gaming rigs. Of course, that PC will cost a bunch more for a while. But slowly the cycle will begin anew and devs will exhaust their magic of making console pump out increasingly better graphics and the PC segment will continue to look/play the best overall.

Console are great, for what they are. But the producing the best graphics for games that money can buy, that's not what they excell at. They're good "for the masses" and provide a level playing feild for many people.

Yuppp. I was the same way. I was a console junky.. soooo much Halo 2+3 back in day. Then I was converted to PC by the graphics and mods of games biggrin.gif

Yea I jumped on the band wagon a while back and I've never looked back. I sold my 360's a while back and I wish I kept one around so I could play Halo 4 and Halo Wars but I'm over it

Yeah, the best part about it is that I only paid about $600 for my PC and am still able to max all the games I play out and get better graphics than console.

Yeah well thanks to the upscaling that's why they look blurry. Only game I really thought looked good was God Of War 3.

If some reports I've read elsewhere are anything to go by.

One of the main features that are expected to be done by the new gen of consoles... is to run BF3... with AT LEAST medium settings and at full 1080p.

Considering none of the consoles are actually capable of doing true 1080p at the moment... that's a great feat I guess.

I never had a console machine as the first time i saw one back in 1993 i thought they were awfull (and yes i know thats a long time ago) but in 1994 my wife started working for intel and still is today so i was hooked on computers when intel gave her a work at home system and i didn't even game with a computer till 1996 but i am just hooked on computers all around, i like too build them and repair them etc. the only bummer is no i don't get too buy from intel i still have too buy from new egg, amazon, etc. even though my wife is a buyer for intel she can't buy for me.

Last console I played was the PS2.
I admit, I did buy a Xbox 360 a couple months after it's release but it 'RRoD' on me several times in the space of 7 months (each time, I'd get a new unit due to warranty). This alone put me off the current generation of consoles.

Then Battlefield happened. I downloaded the demo of 2142 and was hooked, went and got it on it's release day along with BF2: Deluxe Edition.
There's only 2 game franchises that have even got me THINKING of playing a console; Infamous and Uncharted 3. As I don't own a PS3, I never have though.

Been a PC gamer since 2006 / 2007 and have no intention of going back to consoles.
