I think thats what hes really implying.

It could just be the games that you play. I didn't see this issue for the longest time either. I've just gone back to playing some DX9 titles recently and have seen this issue in a few.

I know that those are lies because I have built three systems with these GPU's within this last year. I fire up Black ops and have same problems every system. It doesn't take much effort to duplicate. 3 out of 3 PC's here exhibit the issue. (P45 chipset, X58 chipset, and X79) I was also able to try it out with Z68 also same problem. 4 different chipsets, five different 7970's, and ten plus different drivers.
Though I do wonder if AMD is only testing these things on AMD Chipsets.

Without beeing disrespectful but that's not surprising, old games are not played as much as this games so you'll only get a few reports for them.

The Thing i wanna know is if this is fixable by drivers or if it is a hardwarefault in the 7000 Series. The fact that 3 different cards tested on 2 different systems do that for me + the fact that this issue is around for such a long time although it causes people to RMA their cards makes me nervous..

It's not hardware.

could you be a bit more precise? A few DX9 games work fine for me as well but some are bugged.

It should be obvious its not hardware.. my HD 6970 (unlocked HD 6950) didn't flicker Borderlands 2 while the HD 7950 boost does & its known the Southern Islands drivers are still very young..

Also Thracks.. this voltage lock on some HD 7900 series is vender dependent right & isn't a in-progress change from AMD? As I have absolutely no way to change voltage, & RBE sadly seems dead & doesn't support 7900 series bios modding..

And yes, I'm a huge gamer.

Does that mean that you're responsible for AMD stepping up their AMD game program? If so good work.

Its nice to see someone who seems to understand the people buying their products.

Looks like Unreal Engine are playing tricks with my card. Can confirm Borderlands 2, Mass Effect 2 and Batman Arkham City DX9 artifacts flickering. No artifacts in Bulletstorm and Dishonored though, but i haven't played them much. Trine 2 and some other games are running perfectly fine. Dragon Age are downloading from Steam. I have been using ATI cards for years and never had any issues, except Crysis (Crysis Warhead) and Bad Company 2. (some white flashes on trees and glowing eges, but from what i've read NVidia users report of these bugs too) .

p.s. Last night i swapped back to my old 6950 and seems they are all gone.

I'm a piece of the puzzle, sure. But we also have a dedicated relations team with software engineers, marketing guys, sales guys and the like, all of them specifically tasked with securing and improving the performance/experience of the biggest titles. That's the Gaming Evolved program, of course. I often contribute my manhours to things like blogs, charts, screenshots, benchmarks and the other materials that you might see publicly, or through one of our game/hardware partners.

For example, if you've ever read the text on the back of a product box... I probably wrote it! smile.gif
