Then a few month after Titan Nvidia will roll out the GTX 780 with GK114 or GK110 with 10(instead of 14) SMX unit at around $500-$550 with more option for non-reference designs.

Yea this make sense..Cant wait

Performance estimates seem to be off (compared to GTX 690).

(5.2 * 384) / (6.0 * 2 * 256) = 1996.8 / 3072.0 = ~65% of memory bandwidth.
(0.732 * 2880) / (0.915 * 2 * 1536) = 2108.16 / 2810.88 = ~75% of GPU performance.

And that is without a single SMX unit being disabled.

With SLI scaling in games where it matters being ~95%, this card is going to be trailing much further behind.

GPGPU capabilities, on the other hand, could be interesting. Provided that they are not ruined again...

Few questions:

What do you reckon the retail price of these will be in the UK (planning on getting two) with my new AMD build.

What sort of performance will we be looking at compared to the GTX 680 etc.

AMD CPUs are much less powerful than Intel currently and last I checked (before this piledriver update) the best AMD had to offer was still holding back single high end GPUs, so AMD would be a bad choice for something as powerful as two of these cards... a very bad choice.

Consider an overclocked i7, or you will be CPU bottlenecked.

price point of intel CPU's is too high and id rather spend more cash on the GPU's.

There is no point to this card unless it comes ready for 5 monitor surround with 4 or more MDP outputs. I doubt it will and I doubt it will come with 6GB of VRAM, 3-4GB maybe.

You are planning to spend 1500 GBP on GPUs, and can't spend 250 GBP on a CPU?

It fills the gap between 680 and 690, and Nvidia needs to get rid of some leftover chips.

Your priorities are generally correct, spend more on the GPUs than the CPU, but in this specific instance it's just downright foolish to want to spend $1800 on GPUs and not want to spend ~$220 to get a decent CPU.
