Well my 4 680's all do 1400 plus lol. I do know most dont.

because my crossfire combo 7970/7950 @ 1300/1600 can do 22k en 3dmark11..
Im pretty sure with 7970/7970 would be higher. Shame my 7950 cannot keep up with my 7970 highly oced..

Either that or you are going too easy on them lol..

Good luck finding those 680 that do 1400mhz gaming stable tho XD

In Heaven the highest I've been able to bench at is 1220MHz and that's water cooled. 1300MHz is hardly a common OC for 7970's as I have had 4 (two Lightnings and two Sapphires) and the best one I had only did 1275MHz. The rest are around 1225MHz and 1235MHz. My best 3dmark11 GPU score was a little over 20k (exact score in my sig)...

The pattern i seen with this gen of gpus (amd side) is that msi lightning dont guaranteed you a good overclocking card thats for sure...

My 7970 Sapphire OC edition can do easy 1300/2000 specially the mem which dont need voltage increase...

Havent push higher than 1350/2200 yet... She can do 1300/2000 on air gaming stable @ 1.25v...

The 7950 so far i have push her 1300/1700 @ 1.2v for benchs 1250/1600 gaming stable @ 1175v... but this one runs in the hot side on the vrms on air wouldnt risk it higher than that...

About the same here 1.2-1.25Ghz under Water. I just leaver them @ 1.125 since i see no reason for more heat for extra 5-10% increase in performance.

You just got lucky is all. I have two Sapphire OC's right now and they won't budge over 1225MHz in CF. I can get them to 1250MHz or so individually but that's about it. As far as memory goes, they can do 1750MHz without voltage but no more...

Maybe, my 2nd 7970 sapphire OC which i returned long time ago wouldnt budge over 1550 on memory without crashing lol
but i think it had something wrong hardware side as it gave me a lot of issues...

Heaven run I just did for another thread at 1215MHz / 1733MHz:

You try lower mem speed and higher core? You are watching the v drop's?
Thats one of the things i love in the 7950 the constant voltage running make the card easy to overclock...
I got a higher score by lowering core and raising memory. My Vdroop is pretty bad as an indicated 1381mV in Trixx is really only around 1285mV or so in GPU-z...

The 2 7970 lighting I tried did 1290mhz on the core but would not go past 1600mhz on the mem. In crossfire they wouldn't even OC without crashing. The 2 680 lighting I tried, one did 1340/1950MHz and the other did 1370/2000MHz and they did that is SLI as well.
