2600k pushin to the limit, 5ghz.

ok,

heres the thing,

i get amazing-ish temps,


bare in mind im using an arctic freezer 13 at the lowest rpm the mobo will allow, 900-1000rpm.

im at 4.6 giggle hurts, with 1.325v.

and here are the settings that i have no clue about, i saw extreme and thought "yep ill have some extreme thanks"

what do they do, i mean i know what current capabilites is but the rest, not got a scooby do!

also, chip will do 4.430 at 1.056v proof.gif link.

what settings should i use to get 5ghz. or anywhere near that,

Lol, but seriously you won't want extreme of everything at least not for LLC (Load-Line Calibration) not sure about phase control or Duty Control personally cause I've never touched them. As far as LLC I currently have a 2600k @ 4.6ghz i used to have with Ultra High LLC with offset voltage and I had to have a voltage so that my load voltage was about 1.336V, but after being properly informed about LLC, I changed LLC to medium and now get the exact same OC with a 1.28 load voltage. From what I understand the higher the LLC the bigger the distance is between the highest voltage and the lowest voltage for an offset voltage (someone correct me if I'm wrong). What LLC does with manual voltage I'm not too sure cause I always use offset voltage for my OCs.

It's not actually the distance between the highest voltage and lowest voltage. Using a lower LLC will require you increase your Offset voltage and vice versa. This is because using a lower LLC will set your Vdroop voltage further away from the VID and to compensate for that you will have to increase the Offset voltage.

Ok, I agree when I lowered to medium LLC that I had to increase the offset voltage, but the main reason I had to have a higher load voltage with higher LLC is because my PC would BSOD from too little voltage on idle not on load, so therefore I had to increase the voltage which increased my load voltage to higher than what was needed just to get my idle voltage stable, that's why I thought the voltage range was higher with higher LLC, but I think I understand what your saying.

Actually, people that uses Ultra High LLC are recommended to revert to High LLC and increase their Offset voltage by a tad to increase their Idle voltages and have the same Load voltages. This is explained in the Sandy Thread.

No, no, no. Let's say your target load voltage is 1.4V, for example only (these values are arbitrary).

For UH LLC, let's say you need +0.02 to get 1.4V load voltage. In turn, your idle voltage is somewhere around 1.0V. You experience an idle BSOD.

What you want to do is revery to High LLC and you need to increase Offset to, say, +0.04 to get the same 1.4 load voltage. In turn, your idle voltage will approximately increase to around 1.02V to avoid BSOD.

So with the two LLC settings, you have the same Load voltage but the lower LLC produces a higher Idle voltage.

Simply put, LLC adjusts the amount of VDroop you get under maximum load, Level 1 or Extreme or Maximum or whatever it is called in your BIOS is basicly no VDroop.

Anything lower and you will have higher idle volts than you have under load.

I just always set them at Level 1 to begin with, VDroop is useless.

EDIT: What the above poster said is true though, if you like using Speedstep etc then you could potentially get idle BSODs under light load, that is where LLC could help you by increasing your idle voltage without increasing load voltage.
