This is a multiple choice poll

  • 11% of voters (154)
Air cooling - I want lots of fan options, top, sides, back, front.
  • 31% of voters (411)
Air cooling - I want it to perform well out of the box but we don't need to perforate every single panel.
  • 25% of voters (329)
"Sleek, Modern" Design - The BitFenix Prodiigy, NZXT Phantom Series, Corsair 600T and other cases with unique designs are my favorite.

HDD Capacity - I want to make a RAID or NAS box, so I want at least four 3.5" drive bays
  • 36% of voters (477)

As small as possible with a full sized GPU of atleast a 7970. PSU should be SFX and 2 3.5 HDDs.

i asked in your ama on reddit if corsair would make a mini-itx case.
guess it's sooner rather than later biggrin.gif

the smaller the better.
full size gpu and psu is definitely a plus but not necessary.
sleek aluminum a la lian-li is my prefered style.
the fewer the hdd slots the better.
a window.
140mm/120mm front 140mm/120mm back.

I think an Obsidian styled mITX case would be awesome.

As well as a small HTPC case with the same basic Obsidian look.
I would love an Obsidian style mITX case that had support for watercooling and enough space for even the longest graphics cards, think 680 Classified or a 690.

What would make a perfect itx case for me?

  • Quality construction, Think 800D, Apple Mac Pro, Lian Li. (being Corsair that base is covered thumb.gif)
  • Perforated aluminum in the right spots for low airflow resistance and quiet operation
  • Room and ventilation for full sized GPU and PSUs
  • A top located 240mm rad mount for something along the size of a Corsair H100
  • Enough room for a tower CPU cooler would be great too for air cooling but only if the casedesign has the motherboard sit flat in the case
  • Small status LEDs, too many cases use full sized LEDs that are just distracting in a dark environment and make them red or white
  • At least four top mounted USB ports. No firewire, its 2013 not 2003
  • No optical bay required, waste of space in my opinion
  • Monochromatic, silver, black or white
  • No need for handles, its an itx case not a hockey bag
  • Maybe sell a version that comes with a 600-750w 80-Plus PSU and a H100 pre-installed for those of us looking for a bundle deal
  • And A little wider is always better than a little taller for the sake of stability on a desk or work surface

Break apart an SG05 and start there, it should be your 'case to beat' when designing ITX.

Make it easy to get into; no rivets, 10" GPU support.
Nothing fancy, don't need front I/O with USB 3.0, eSATA, or any of that garbage. Refined looks, functional and workable (and powdercoated) interior.

Accommodating an AIO cooler ala H80 would be ideal (And a given).

I have been looking at Mini-ITX for awhile now and haven't quite found the right case yet to blow the cash on. My favorite example of a Mini ITX case is the LIAN LI PC-TU200B It needs to be compact enough make use of the original idea of the Mini ITX system while still maintaining enough expandability for a top of the line GPU. However none of the Mini-ITX cases I have seen have a unique look to them, 90% of the cases available are just squares with holes cut in them. I would like something I could be proud to take to a LAN party without sacrificing portability or cooling efficiency.

Also it should smell like butter cookies. thumb.gif
