Corsair Mini ITX? What do you want? - Page 8

Poll Results: Which features are most important to you in a Mini ITX case?

This is a multiple choice poll
  • 7% of voters (92)
    Size - the smaller the better. I don't need a full GPU, I want a HTPC-style box.
  • 77% of voters (1009)
Size - I want it to be small, but I want a full size GPU and full size PSU in there.
  • 11% of voters (154)
Air cooling - I want lots of fan options, top, sides, back, front.
  • 31% of voters (411)
Air cooling - I want it to perform well out of the box but we don't need to perforate every single panel.
  • 25% of voters (329)
"Sleek, Modern" Design - The BitFenix Prodiigy, NZXT Phantom Series, Corsair 600T and other cases with unique designs are my favorite.
  • 49% of voters (646)
"Refined, Aluminum" Design - Silverstone, Lian-Li, and Corsair Obsidian Series are more my speed.
  • 34% of voters (454)
Quiet - I want this thing whisper quiet.
  • 45% of voters (596)
Liquid Cooling - it'd be nice to be able to fit a 240mm radiator in this thing
  • 7% of voters (97)
HDD Capacity - I want to make a RAID or NAS box, so I want at least four 3.5" drive bays
  • 36% of voters (477)
HDD Capacity - I just plan on running an OS and a storage drive - two or three drive bays is fine as long as there's native SSD support.
  • 18% of voters (246)
Portability - handles and whatnot are really important to me. So is overall weight and durability.
  • 19% of voters (255)
Scent - I like all my computer products to be scratch and sniff. Please make this smell like Lilacs.
  • 2% of voters (32)
    Other - posted in thread.

Would definitely buy something like that. Pretty clever design for watercooling.

I Think it should defiantly be smaller than the prodigy. Even in high end configs such as Singularity Computer's custom build and Project Prodigious there is a ton of wasted space, Prodigious is even running a mATX board. I would hope for something along the lines of PSU over mobo so that out of box it must be used with a low profile air cooler or upgrade to anywhere from a H40 to a dual 120 by 450 mm rad up top (H100 to slim custom loop rad). With enough room for a full graphics card and when the HDD cages are removed room for a pump and maybe 120 rad up front. Below is a mostly to scale rendition to give you an idea of what I'm saying, hope you can decipher it. ~Hpoe it helps!~

*edit*
The psu is mounted fan facing up fyi.

You've got the PSU airflow backwards - you couldn't have it that way unless you opened up the PSU and flipped the fan. Expecting the user to do that is not realistic (or safe).

Please make one that fits maybe a full size GPU and PSU. And make it sleek like the 600T biggrin.gif

Don't make it big and hideous in order to incorporate large radiators!!

Oh sorry I have no idea what I was thinking. Keep in mind though I did this in paint at 2 AM. In that case maybe have the PSU pull off the CPU or take in air from the side and then increase the height and make it a tad roomier for the PSU to be rotated 90 or 270 degrees. This is just one man's idea, and I don't have sheet metal and components to play around and test with. I'll leave the Corsair design professionals to work out all the kinks and be amazed by whatever they do make if *cough* when*cough* it comes out.

If I could fit a GTX670 and a AX series in one I'd be EXTREMELY interested.
i wan t to be able to mount a 240 rad but not be much bigger than the sg05, look like the 800D but smaller and fit a a 7970 and gtx680 as for psu a sff psu will work better as it will reduce the size but it should be at least 500w

just get rid of the optical drive bay, I think they are a complete waste of real estate. I personally rarely if ever use optical drives.
I wish more cash manufacturers would do this

just my 2 cents

I'd like to see a design that uses an SFX/MicroATX PSU (there are a coupl've 80+ Gold 450w SFX supplies on the market now), but that leaves space for a decent CPU cooler and a full size GPU.

It's a good idea, makes cases shorter. As long as we have some space for a couple of HDDs it's all good.
