Corsair Mini ITX? What do you want? - Page 9

Poll Results: Which features are most important to you in a Mini ITX case?

This is a multiple choice poll
  • 7% of voters (92)
    Size - the smaller the better. I don't need a full GPU, I want a HTPC-style box.
  • 77% of voters (1009)
Size - I want it to be small, but I want a full size GPU and full size PSU in there.
  • 11% of voters (154)
Air cooling - I want lots of fan options, top, sides, back, front.
  • 31% of voters (411)
Air cooling - I want it to perform well out of the box but we don't need to perforate every single panel.
  • 25% of voters (329)
"Sleek, Modern" Design - The BitFenix Prodiigy, NZXT Phantom Series, Corsair 600T and other cases with unique designs are my favorite.
  • 49% of voters (646)
"Refined, Aluminum" Design - Silverstone, Lian-Li, and Corsair Obsidian Series are more my speed.
  • 34% of voters (454)
Quiet - I want this thing whisper quiet.
  • 45% of voters (596)
Liquid Cooling - it'd be nice to be able to fit a 240mm radiator in this thing
  • 7% of voters (97)
HDD Capacity - I want to make a RAID or NAS box, so I want at least four 3.5" drive bays
  • 36% of voters (477)
HDD Capacity - I just plan on running an OS and a storage drive - two or three drive bays is fine as long as there's native SSD support.
  • 18% of voters (246)
Portability - handles and whatnot are really important to me. So is overall weight and durability.
  • 19% of voters (255)
Scent - I like all my computer products to be scratch and sniff. Please make this smell like Lilacs.
  • 2% of voters (32)
    Other - posted in thread.

This would be the ideal case. I know it's an mATX case, but.. it works for ITX boards too tongue.gif

I'd like a couple of cases to choose from:

1) A tiny case with room for the motherboard, a low profile/stock heatsink, and a SSD. Something that's nettop sized, maybe even smaller to be used as a HTPC that would stream content from online or off a home NAS/File Server. Similar to this: Silverstone PT13

2) A case for a NAS. Small with a lot of hard drive bays, preferable with a tray or rail you mount the hard drive in so you can slide the drive in and out of the case. Kind of like how it is in a NZXT Vulcan or Fractal Designs Arc Mini. It needs to have good hard drive airflow, some sort of anti-vibration system, and aimed at people just using integrated graphics.

3) And lastly, something sexy and ready for a full sized GPU and water cooling.

Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with. thumb.gif

that defeats the purpose of having a mini itx board. why don't you just buy a caselabs case and stick your mini-itx board in there, it works for ITX boards too you know.

TX10 with 2 mITX boards lachen.gif

But yeah, there are plenty of mATX cases out there, that's why they're asking for mITX suggestions.

I think you guys should make one that looks just like the 800d except make it teeny tiny .. tongue.gif

nobody has stated:

clever usage of pci-e riser cards / cables (spacesaver and different from competition as no gamer chassis has that) this is totaly out of the box thinking.

start with getting the components and shuffle them around like a puzzle. build a case around it. hdds can be under the motherboard.
use a drawer design to slide them from underneath. must fit two 3.5 and two 2.5. (raid and 3tb support)
must have a bluray drive if doesnt fit release a external as accesoiry.

top of case two h100 mounted next to each other.

support for triple slot cards. if u do this u might as well make it matx compatible as only one slot difference for dual gpu. again riser card / cable design gfx horizontal on top of board. make a flexible cable that goes into a pci slot like an old ide cable to achieve new gfx card positioning.

release short modular cables for existing psu so cable management is tiny.

make it fit in a media, hifi stand. i like the hifi look of the LEET chassis.

buy all competitors cases and see what u like and dont like. langear company has some decent cases.
release a h100 bases gpu cooler.

lianli aluminium, ooze quality, minimalistic. i might make a sketch later.
