Is Trion's Defiance Pricy?

Forbes Article

From the referenced article the game will be from USD$60 to USD$150.

Now I know I'm getting to be an 'Old Fogey' but the prices for the 'extras' seem steep. Have other games priced themselves similarly? My most recent experience is the USD$60($40 after discount) for BF3 Premium.

What does everyone else think?

I've seen a surge of these "extreme edition" releases in the last few years. As I recall Skyrim had a ~$150 edition that came with a resin dragon statue, BLOPS2 had a rediculous edition, and several others as well. I personaly don't buy these anymore. Two reasons, first I mostly game on the PC now and will sometimes buy a "digital deluxe" package if it comes with interesting in game perks. Secondly the price for what you get just seems off, IMO. I did like the FO3 Collectors edition that came with a metal lunch box and Vualt Boy bobble head, but maybe I'm just a bit more grown up now (read: stingy)?

I'm stingy too and always looking for a deal.

In the case of BLOPS2 there was an version where you got an RC chopper (or something like that). Maybe the trend now is to play up the merchandise for a Game and include it with in-game perks. And with Defiance with a TV Show tie-in... But still USD$150.00!? (ok I'm whining now).
