[MordorHQ] Battlefield 3 Hackers now able to shutdown servers - Censored Video - Page 10

Is it an awesome game if people are hacking a-holes? Absolutely. Best MP FPS ever created. That said, people hack. However, in my several hundred hours of gameplay, I've only noticed a handful of hackers. They have not affected my overall game play experience in ways that really bother me. But, then again, if I find that I am sucking on a particular server one day, I look for ways in which I can improve, rather than look for conspiracy theory level excuses as to why others are beating me. Stop whining. If you do, you might stop sucking.

Arma2:Wasteland and Battlefield2:Project Reality are of the top 10 best multilayers out there. BF3 is just shinny, gets 8th place among 10.

Don't forget America's Army. It may not be the best now, but it was definitely the best war simulator for a while. ARMA2 is good, but the controls are just too complicated and unintuitive sometimes. It has a steep learning curve.

PunkBuster itself isn't THAT bad... In my 180 hours of BF3, I've only seen about 4 extremely obvious hackers. Their customer support however, is terrible. I got banned by PunkBuster about a week ago (which was due to a false positive), and all of the responses to my help ticket were utter bullcrap. The representative from EvenBalance pretty much just said that my ban was valid and that it was impossible for their software to be wrong. I asked for the specific reason for why I was banned and was met with my ticket being locked...

Yeah, I don't see a way to filter "Semi-decent servers." I play on servers that have low ping. So I don't have to deal with lag. How do I further weed out a "bad server" from there?

The game has a lot of hackers, I have played many hours of BF3, and have come across many cheaters. From aimbotters, to people who can't be killed, to glitchers, to obvious cheaters with 100+ kills and double the score in a game where the next highest kill rate is, maybe in the 30's half way though; then people claim "oh it's probably a skilled player." Please. No one is that consistent game after game.

Battlefield 3 has cheaters, a lot of them. Mostly because the game has become an open target because of they way DICE programmed it, and handled cheating in the first place.

It's quite easy to find a popular server with decent admins and a map selection that suits. Our admins are on pretty much from the minute the server starts in the morning untill it dies around 1am and if they aren't and there is a problem they will contact and admin and it will be sorted via procon pretty almost instantly. I know it shouldn't have to be like this and a better method of cheat protection should be in place but if you take the time to search and find a server belonging to a decent clan hackers shouldn't be a problem. smile.gif

I might find good use for this, I've been banned so many times for "hacks". My SPM is around 1200 and thats with playing other game types other than TDM or SQDM that lower it considerably, I know it's rather petty but it's extremely annoying to be banned for cheating when you're not, if someone doubts the SPM of being legit and wants to buy me a full version of XSplit I'll gladly stream for you thumb.gif

If these games are soo good why is there barely anyone playing them anymore, especially arma 2. I for one thought project reality was a horrible mod that ruined the fast paced gameplay of bf, much preferred mods like forgotten hope which changed the time period but kept the bf gameplay.

These mods have very little "marketing" behind them, unlike DayZ (for example, which got launched into massive popularity by IGN/Kotaku/Reddit).
