Try driver fusion to clean then install the new driver. I've always had issues if I didn't do a clean install. The worst was my monitor just going black.

Thanks for your replies guys

Okay so, tried a driver sweep, still stuttering!
I have also tried my GPU at stock settings and that makes no diff.

Do you think It could be something to do with my CPU overclock from 3.4ghz to 4.2ghz? I used the OC Genie on my MSi board.

Maybe I will try it at stock settings tomorrow and find out. Sometimes computers really just drive me insane!

Edit: tried underclocking back to stock, still the same.

Its possible that its your motherboard, not likely but possible. I think that the card is just simply faulty or doesnt mesh with your motherboard.

driver sweeper or fusion cause more problems then good. u have to go in the control panel and registry to remove anything related to your current driver. there is a thread guideline here, but im too lazy to find it for u. my suggestion is to remove all current drivers manually, then do clean install on the most up to date driver. if you already have the most up to date driver, try clean installing the previous driver. then make a general profile on radeon pro for all your games.

To be honest I just don't see how it could be my motherboard. it's brand new, and I know my GPU is but I have a feeling its software related, this is my second card now.

Done the driver fresh install etc, I have Radeon Pro I set as:

Global Profile:
Triple Buffering - Tick
Display refresh rate 60 Hz
V sync Control - Always on (Double V sync)
Dynamic Framerate control - Keep up to 59 Fps

(Feels like radeon pro does nothing but just sit in my system tray)

CCC Set to defaults so not to interfere with Radeon Pro

But I run Starcraft 2 and disable the V Sync in game and I get screen tearing, am I supposed to have v sync enabled in game and radeon pro? because ive tried both and it still stutters, Also I have tried graphics on minimum and it stutters, it really feels like a V-sync problem. Its when I move around the map with the arrows that the game stutters, the units etc are fine unless im moving the screen around. (a steady 60 fps)

Its like that with Far Cry 3 too, when you start running around or driving its stuttering, but if you just stand there looking around you don't get it, I really can't play my games without V sync as it just looks awful. But im realy not sure what to do next.

My old Nvidia 460's never did this but obviously I needed an upgrade thinking this 7970 would be fine, I have also heard the 680's stutter. But ive not really seen anyone with a single 7970 stutter, I google it and its always forums talking about 7970 Crossfire stutter.

Man this really blows, I appreciate all your help guys, and if you have any more advice it is more than welcome!

Two things, could you put your rig down with the rig builder, just makes everything easier. B, what monitor do you have, how old, brand, refresh rate, contrast ratio, etc.

FC3 is for sure borked on the 7970. I get like 25 fps with both of my 7970's and the lag is insane. Game works flawless on my folding rig though with a single GTX 580...

Did you overclock the card? If so, try reverting to a factory clock and see if it does anything.
