Asus 7970 matrix plat, STUTTERING on all games! - Page 3

Whats you're power limit at? i've seen some people have these issues caused by the card constantly changing its boost clocks during the game causing stuttering.

Sure trying to but error occus everytme I submit my Rigbuild, and I have a Samsung SyncMasterSA350 23" max 1080p @60Hz, bought it early last year I think, just have it set to a custom colour mode, doesn't say the contrast ratio for some reason.

But I also have it hooked up to my 47" 3D LG Smart TV for when I want to use my Xbox controller on my pc.
That is also 1080p, I Know the 7970 is supposed to be overkill for just 1080p but it's not feeling like it.

yeah its odd, my frame rates are steady though, sometimes dropping slightly in hectic environments, but its just a jumpy movement every now and again, more often than not.

Yeah I have overclocked it slightly, but the card is overclocked as standard, I have tried putting it back to the default clock settings but still no luck.

Again, thank you all for your replies.

Edit: Im thinking maybe just RMA and get a 680 now, just tried Mass effect 3 and the stutter is only every now and again, no where near as much as Far Cry 3 and others, but like other games it has graphical glitches due to bad bad drivers.

But I am still unsure on what one to get, perhaps the Asus GeForce GTX 680 DirectCU II, although it is £420, I paid £400 for my 7970, which is now £440, so overclockers.co.uk will have to credit me, man this is a shambles.

Use Afterburner and enable the OSD with GPU clock ticked. See if you cards aren't going above the idle clock while gaming. For whatever reason, when I had my 7970 it'd start up on the right clock then once it went past a video in the intro or something the screen would flicker and the card would be stuck at idle.

Asus is a great choice, Gigabyte is another great one as well as the ever popular EVGA.
*EDIT*
Your monitor should be fine, I thought that it could just be a crappy quality monitor but that is not the case.

Sorry to hear about your troubles man. If you do decide to RMA it, the DirectCU II is a good option.

I have put the slider to 20% all the way up for the power.

I can tell you that far cry 3 needs not only drivers update but also optimization patch from ubisoft. But in sc2 i have zero stuttering with 2x7970. I have eyefinity but sc2 dont support it.

Okay so I tried Afterburner, seems like the clocks are all correct whilst gaming, so its not that (Thanks for the suggestion)
I do have something in GPU Tweak called "Load Line(%)" Which is at 25% default, Its apparently for stabilizing overclocks, but I have never used it before so I'm not sure what to do with it.
I think Asus GPU tweak only have the function and ive never come accross it before. Could that be anything to do with the stuttering?
Load line is for compensating vdroop, shouldn't affect stuttering. If nothing works, try a program like cc cleaner to check for any registry errors, has fixed problems for me before

You really shouldn't have multiple overclocking programs running at the same time, that would be a problem, uninstall them all and try it
