Well I play Mostly MMOs, Shooters, love some Hack and slash games, Pretty much you name it. I also play a lot of PS2 games using a Emluator.
I like being able to play on high settings, but I tend to stick right at 1080 Res, don't see the reason to go higher.

If you feel like you need more power, upgrade.

If not, don't upgrade.

660ti / 7870 Tahiti Le / 7950 Those are pretty decent choices.

But before we get into that, can you please fill in your rig description so that we may provide better advice and scrutiny.

Side note- I May be willing to buy that 460 so lets hear a price!

I guess its just me, I just want something new, like a reason to tinker with my PC, Im not too sure i really need a new GPU but i still want some sort of upgrade to the 460. Hell even if the upgrade is only 100ish id bite.

Well I would sell it to you for about 100. Beare in mind i have the box, and cds and wires and such, but i dont have the actuall packaging, so i would have to stuff the box with something to keep it safe Haha.

At 1080p and high settings, the 460 is going to start running out of steam on newer titles, and more so because the lower ram amount more then anything.

If you plan to keep this rig a while I'd suggest even a 7870/7850. It's be quite a big performance bump while not being very power hungry.

can you spend 290 bucks. the gigabyte HD 7950 from superbiiz with 3 free games is a good buy. easily more than 2x your current card. i heard from a user who bought this card recently that it comes with the boost bios and 1 ghz boost clocks.

http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?p=GA-795WF3G

the sapphire card with 925 mhz boost for USD 279 after rebate is also a good option. these cards are on par with GTX 670

http://www.techspot.com/review/603-best-graphics-cards/page12.html

the other good option is Sapphire HD 7870 XT with the tahiti le chip for USD 260. the tahiti le also scales well with overclocking and at 1.2 ghz matches HD 7970(925 mhz ) performance.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Club_3D/HD_7870_jokerCard_Tahiti_LE/28.html

HD 6850 - 53 (GTX 460 performance)
GTX 560 Ti - 68
HD 7870 tahiti le - 100

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/01/01/powercolor_radeon_hd_7870_myst_edition_review/

what is the combined output across your 12v rails. you need atleast 36A (36 x 12 = 432w) to power these cards.

edit: if the psu model is the one in the review below you would be safe. for a HD 7950 you should avoid extreme voltage overclocking.

7950 and 7870XT are looking ripe to me. And regardless or not what path you choose, you can always keep that 460 to offload physx to; be it Hybrid Physx or not.
