Choose my graphics card!

Thread Starter
I've made a couple of threads before getting peoples opinion on a couple of cards but i felt i would open this thread and see what people recommend for this build. thumb.gif

Display:
- Dell U2713HM (2560 x 1440)

Build:
- Silverstone Fortress FT03B Black
- Kingston HyperX 16GB 2133Mhz (4x4GB) DDR3
- ASUS P8Z77-M PRO Motherboard
- Intel Core i7 3770K
- Silverstone Strider 750W Gold Evolution
- Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB SSD

I have also seen the recent developments on the Geforce Titan, which makes me even more lost on what to buy.

Basically would like max settings, constant 60FPS, too much to ask? tongue.gif

Well you could wait for the next gen, or it's either a 680 gtx or a 7970. What's your budget?

This is the best deal I've seen on any card. Not sure what your budget is, but for $220 after rebate it's hard to beat.

At this resolution the 7970 GHz edition. It take less fps hit than a GTX 680 at this resolution.
Also 3 GB VRAM is nice to have.

You haven't stated your budget, but assuming its pretty high considering your choice of components and an ultra high reso reso monitor. wink.gif

I would advice you to get HD 7870 Ghz edition if you want a single card or GTX 670 SLI if you want dual GPU setup !

Budget is negligible, while I'm not going to spend $1000 on a gpu I want something that is powerful (runs as mentioned) and quite! thumb.gif

If that is the case then get a GTX 670 which is quite cheaper and the flagships and still a pretty potent performer and will give you 60 FPS @ 1080p in all games thumb.gif

While that is a very nice deal, I live in Australia and prefer locally bought products (easy to RMA).

Very close to what I'm looking for, what brand would you suggest?

How does 7870 hold up at 1440p?

I'm a little rusty on the current best GPUs, but will a 7970ghz and a 680 even run 1440p at 60fps? and as for the 7870 I think he meant 7970. thumb.gif
