offset is better, then it downclocks(vcore) if the cpu isnt very busy, or idles,
but you still need to find your stable ifxed vcore first, to make offset work,
if youre not stable with fixed vcore, your offset will fail too smile.gif

+1 to this. it takes time to find a stable fixed voltage. Once you know that then move on to offset.

Im new to overclocking my i5 3570k myself and im doing things slowly to make sure im learning it right. I tried doing offset from the beginning and accidentaly put 1.4-1.5 volts into my cpu for a good 10 seconds so make sure you take things slowly. so you dont do a mistake and scare yourself when you see the results. (i panicked when i saw that voltage lol)
Dont expect to learn overclocking in a day or two theres definitely a learning curve to it.

As for offset.
Offset mode would lower your voltage at iddle but when you run prime 95 your CPU is at full load so your tempertures and voltage would be similar to a fixed voltage at full load. Right now your trying to find a STABLE overclock at LOAD. This is easier to do with a fixed voltage.
So just stick to fixed voltage til you find something stable. Then you can work towards an offset overclock.

Secondly
you say your finding that the cpu is stable at 4.5 at that voltage.
What i have noticed is that you computer can run prime 95 fine at a certain voltage but still might be getting WHEA errors wich are a sign of instability.

Check in your event viewer ( applications and services, microsoft, windows, Kernel-WHEA, errors) to see if you are getting any. if yes then your computer is still slightly unstable.

i will try with 1.285v by p95 test.............give me a time of 24hour..........
what about offset volt....................it could undervolt in idle (correct me if i'm wrong).......maybe that can lower the temp.....and my cooler is hyper 212 evo....
any suggestion or opinion??

ALso what were your temps during gaming? those temps are pretty important as well as some games demand the CPU for physix and the GPu will run the rest but the Physix part will be pretty hard on the CPU (totally dependent on the game.)

SUPER LOLzzzzzzzzzz

anyway..........
now check that pic (sorry for bad quality but check those temps too)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/92490001@N04/8412681917/in/photostream
multiplier 45 with 1.285v

an yes! i got this error........don't know whether it is whea or not but its fatal error
'FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file'
what should i do now...........?? try with 1.29??
and 1 thing....additional turbo volt set by auto......should i change it or leave like that..............??

if you mean LLC leave that at high or if they have a % sign go with 100% then try 1.3 vcore and see how that goes. thumb.gif getting closer!!!
