It should. Just after you-know-who was you-know-what on you-know-where.

Though, given how long it's been and that this comes out in two months, it's your own fault if you don't know by now.

That's FREAKING HUGE!?!?!

They're supposed to be somewhere in the region of 600 to 800m long... But yeah, that thing totally looked like it was a couple miles at least.

I will second any opinion that states that Blizzard should just make a movie.

Viking landing to fight an ultra, really? I can accept a viking cant fire it missiles at the ground, ok fine, but how can they hit colossi and not those ultras? I would flank them to avoid their armored head.
Everyone knows marauders counter ultras, not siege tanks, especially when they aren't sieged

No bunkers? It takes 35 seconds to build a bunker, they should have got a few down. Or at least been garrisoned and have flipped some cars (or tables). Marines on top of buildings would be a good start.
Siege tanks unsieged?
No thors?

Pure zergling destroys marine tank medivac, where are the hellions, medivacs/medics, firebats,
Hellions or vultures would be good for scouting, instead of an expensive siege tank
Science vessels? Where are you? Irradiate on ultras will pop many zerglings.
Seems like a good spot for a tactical nuke... wait thats what the BC was for wasnt it...

Also Im pretty sure that BC was much too large... I know they are big, but not that big I thought...

Duuuuude. Not only was it a cinematic, so it's there for visual wows mostly, but it was a fantasy! She even wakes up from it in the cinematic tongue.gif

Uhm... Writing a new story, creating and balancing new tech trees, modelling and animating, building the campaign, more balancing, working on other games... games are like movies. It's not like jamming the ingredients in a microwave and waiting two minutes for the finished product to be heated up.

And if you won't buy it, that means there'll be more copies for those of us who will! smile.gif

Nope. The games have different units and tech trees and stuff and I'm too brain to explain myself. The point is they're two different games.

No No No No

just a low low price of 40 dollars!!!

To be fair, The Sims 3 expansions release at $40...

Value is subjective. I wouldn't pay $200 for a pair of shoes, my mom wouldn't pay $1000 for a computer.

If $40 is too much for you, don't buy it. Personally, at $40, I feel like I'm ripping Blizzard off.

Maybe a leviathan or some random creature we've just never seen before.

Those things it was spitting out are the Zerg equivalent of the Terran drop pods.

Nydus worm. It even moves like the thing in the game does.

Woo. Scary emphasis caps! Yeah. 3 years for an expansion is totally logical, you are right.

It's not an expansion. It's a sequel. It's a totally new game. It's not some 2-hour addon to the base game that requires the original game installed to play. It's a whole separate thing.

I dunno if I'd go quite that far, but this is easily as much content as Broodwar, which was $30 at launch. Interestingly the increase is slightly lower than inflation...

Granted, I mostly want it for the campaign so that's the bulk of the value for me. I'll probably not play much outside the 'arcade' of multiplayer.

I have a question, does this expansion attach to my current WOL or is it a separate client? I would appreciate it if the engine improvements make it to WOL. It would even be better if it tags on so I can just switch to HoTS in a menu.

Pretty sure the overall graphics and physics, for death animations, are getting updates

Just to point out... Final Fantasy cg trailers are better. Blizzard is just now catching up.

But it is an expansion, and it does require WoL to install(at least for NA and EU.). Even Blizz says so.

Question : What is StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm?

Answer : Heart of the Swarm is the first expansion set to Blizzard Entertainment’s sci-fi real time strategy game, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. Heart of the Swarm continues the epic story from Wings of Liberty with an all-new campaign that focuses on Kerrigan, the former Queen of Blades. New multiplayer content will also be included in the expansion, as well as new features and upgrades to the Battle.net online platform.

Question : Will Heart of the Swarm require ownership of Wings of Liberty?

Answer : For the regions that have a standard box business model such as North America and Europe, yes, Wings of Liberty will be required in order to play Heart of the Swarm. Further details (and bundles that contain both games at a discount) can be found on the Heart of the Swarm pre-purchase page.

Just some rough guestimation based on the Ultralisk's size and the surrounding buildings-

I don't think it's anywhere near miles long.

No way the Ultra is 5m. More like 25-30m.

???
I have done extensive testing and I get much higher frames with HT on then off. It also benefits quite a bit from overclocking as well.

If you don't play online I can see balking at the price, but that's like buying a Call of Duty game for the single-player experience. With that being said, there's an unranked matchmaking mode in HotS, meaning you can play in an almost zero-pressure environment: no points, no rank icons, no win/loss records, etc.

For the number of hours people are liable to sink into this, $40 isn't a bad deal at all.

It is actually kinda like cod, it adds six new units really, moba? you mean what valve and riot release for free? Alot of the sp missions were simply not that good and the ending of wings of liberty sucked in general that I wouldn't even want to play the next one. So far the best looking part about is seems to be the CGI which we can watch on youtube. 40$ for the amount of content you are getting doesn't seem worth it. Kinda reminds me of the COH expansion tales of valor which added a few new units a few mini campaigns and some game modes it sucked hard.

With the amount of strategy games coming out this year, I don't see why anyone would buy this; but they all will because its blizzard. So many other games coming out that offers substantially more content; COH2(60$). Rome 2(50$), Planetary annihlation (20$)

Blizzard is releasing it at this price because they know they can and people will still buy it, hopefully some of them have learned from D3.

While I totally agree with you but you can't deny that was a badass trailer thumb.gif
