RTS game that is graphic intensive?

Thread Starter
I used to play command and conquer generals and zero hour a lot as a little kid and i really enjoyed games like those. I see starcraft, which looks really fun but im not really into the whole space theme (probably might get flamed for this) ... im more into like realistic tanks and stuff? modern (current time) theme? I play battlefield 3 a lot but sometimes i want to play an RTS (its an RTS, right?). I just dont know where to start or where to look ,usually i just stick to a game and play it for years but maybe its a time for a change, switch things up from FPS to RTS every now and then!

What are names i could just look up and see, watch some trailers.... specifically graphic intensive (well as much as possible), talking about like Direct X10-11 games not 9.... I just dont what games to look for...

my system specs are :

i5-2500k 4.8ghz
2x GTX 560Ti with dwood H60 bracket at 984mhz core clock
asus p8z68-v pro motherboard
16 GB ram
750W PSU

thanks in advance for any advice! smile.gif

Better yet, here's a trailer for Company of Heroes 2:

Let's hope THQ's sinking ship doesn't affect this one in any way.

No kidding, though I can't imagine a publisher *not* picking up the CoH licence at auction considering the game is already so deep into development.

Also, agree with World In Conflict, couldn't for the life of me think up the name of that game when I posted. All I could remember was the CE came with a piece of the Berlin Wall which I thought was really neat. World In Conflict is set in a bit more current day than CoH OP, might be more your cup of tea.

Anno 2070 looks really interesting....what game is that? is that like a futuristic sims city? i might actually just get it just to try it...

and World in Conflict looks really cool too, i think Company of Heroes is a game id play.... wait so CoH is an RTS ? what i am seeing in gameplay in that trailer is just zoomed up animations of an RTS game that i can control like lots of these units ?

EDIT: Nevermind.... CoH looks pretty sweet. Im going to get CoH.

Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 2.

It's a game very similar to CoH, except with more action and story. The games have held up very well over the years and while not pushing the envelope now, they are very good looking.

You can buy all of the THQ games in a very cheap awesome pack... including all of the CoH games and Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War 2 games with expansions and also the Supreme Commander game and expansion that was mentioned above... plus you get a TON of other awesome games. This is a post a made else where for it. thumb.gif
