what does this mean please??

hi guys... as of late i been getting system freezes and lastr night my system did not want to boot up and i could ne#ot even do a system restore with my windows dvd

so i did a firmware update and a secure erase and the ssd is not showing from 115 to 107 gig... i know it is failing and making palns to buy a new ssd at the end opf the month.

but in my little test i have been doing all shows ok but i did a as ssd bench and it said this on th eone thing.







what does that mean please?? pciide - bad ??


i have no idea so all help and advice will be great

All I know is that "pciide" means that your SATA controller mode is in IDE mode instead of AHCI mode.  AHCI mode is the best for solid state drives.  IDE mode works, but it's not the best.

Yes it is in ide mode.... I had to have it like that to secure erase and flash it to the latest firmware.

Oh, then you'd benefit from knowing how to switch between IDE and AHCI in Windows.  :)

 

It's actually just a simple change in the Registry, and you have to make it right before going into the BIOS and switching the SATA mode.

well the ssd is in another pc... and to se4cure erase it and flash it to the latest firmware i had to has it in ide mode...... as soon as i have finished downloading the windows 7 dvd i will be reinstalling it all again.


i have another topic open regarding my dvd all scratched and non usable.

biut i am going to reinstall it on the ssd with raid enabled as i want to raid my hdd's as well so that will work.
