Overclocking my 2600k 4.6+ Ghz impossible? - Page 6

So what settings should I really use when running IBT?

What is the norm of stability testing nowadays: more people passing Prime95 then failing IBT, or more people passing IBT then failing Prime95?
For IBT all threads so it loads 100%, the more memory used the harder it will stress.
Prime 95 is probably a harder test, although people still pass 24 hours of prime & bsod doing everyday tasks. IBT is good for quicker testing.
For real stability if you will be keeping the same clocks for a long time use both. If it doesn't pass an hour of IBT probably won't pass prime, get IBT stable then do the long prime run.

Ok. Do we need to set IBT at very high or max?

You can use custom as well. Where it shows available memory just put in a number a bit lower (max will set it to every last MB), I usually open a browser first if I want to browse while it runs & leave a bit extra free.

Oh ok. I'm reading that there is an Extreme option. I can't find it anywhere in IBT 2.54?

right click on the start button and hit extreme.

Guys i cant seem to get stable on 4.5ghz using 1.355v isnt that more than enough or is my chip ****ty? Load Line Calibration Enabled, CPU PLL over voltage set to enabled, C3-C6 / EIST / C1E / Disabled. Everything is on auto except for my DRAM iv set it to XMP which gives it the timings its meant to run on which is 9-9-9-24 2T voltage is on 1.5v(which is stock in bios i think).

What's your actual voltage when you are stress testing? 1.35 might not be enough for a 2600K for 4.5. Have you tried 4.4, or increasing the voltage farther?

it BSOD after 2 hours on 1.355 during p95 test, so i upped it to 1.36v OCCT HWMonitor is showing me 1.38 on idle and 1.36 during STRESS, Core temp shows me 1.3711 CPUZ only shows the VID, been 1 hour and 30 minutes so far.. looks good.

Coming from an older ud3h board myself, I saw much better overclocks on my 2500k after I upgraded. The real difference was when I used my old chip on my current board was the weak amount of power phases. Especially with the ud3h only having a 4 pin rather than an 8pin that's in my current board and pretty much the standard for an oc mobo, or more for real high end boards. Also I'm all too familiar with the funky llc levels on my old board, always a pain. When I get home I'll take a look and see if I can find what that LLC enabled actually equates to, as I remember having a similar looking bios before they updated after a few months.
