i upped the voltage. its now sitting at 1.256 at load. (god i hope it works this time.) it would suck to need more then that to get 4.4 XD. is it possible that my computer goes into sleep mode or something after a while and thats making it stop?

Not likely. It is probably just voltage. A lot of guys seem to be needing 1.3V for 4.5 lately, so 1.26V for 4.4 is not out of the question.

Did you turn off sleep in the power options in windows? And it would be pretty normal for it needing more than 1.25v for 4.4, heck i'd say even 1.28v-1.3v would be normal for 4.4ghz with the current ones i've been seeing. In my experience, I needed 1.28v for 4.3ghz, then after that huge leap to 1.32v for 4.4ghz, i just left mine at 4.3ghz, the 3570k that is I used to own.

nice. those temps are with a delidded cpu though are they not? im runing 5-6C more then you at load from the looks of it so far.

edit: looked up a comparison in heat sink benchmarks between your noctua and nzxt. yours cools on average 5celcius lower so i seem pretty normal for temps.

(kinda wich i went with the noctua now...sigh lol. they dint carry it at the local parts store frown.gif and the guy talked me into a havik. its still a solid cooler imo)

i checked up on my rig. i was getting whea errors when the voltage would drop from 1.256 to 1.248 so i cranked up the voltage .005 and now im sitting between 1.256-1.264 at load. its fluctuating between there.

i only had 3 whea errors so i think im getting pretty close to stability!! biggrin.gif
also very glad to hear that i seem in the average range for 4.4

temps hit 70 though. how is the difference between the noctua d14 and the nzxt havik 140?. i feel like temps are a little high (but im an overly paranoid person lol)

70s in Prime are fine - I wouldn't worry until you are in the 80s since you won't see temps within 10-20C of that in normal use.
