Stereo Mix mic volume resets to 0

Hi,

I'd like to find out why whenever I slide up the volume for my 'Stereo Mix' input on windows, it just goes back down instantly to -16.5db (0%). Is there a fix for this?

Feel free to ask for additional information, i didn't know what else to include in this post.

Thanks

-Frodo

Have you right clicked the stereo mix option in control panel, sound, recording and chosen "set as default"?

Try that. If not, try visiting your sound card/onboard sound's brand website and see if it's a common problem. Other than that, make sure all cables are connected properly and in the correct ports, update sound drivers, etc.
