How efficient is my PC. Where can I Improve?

Hi all Im Sort of New here. I appreciate any advice you guys can give me. I'm Trying my best make my PC the best it can be! (with what i can afford)

My goal,

To achieve maximum Visual Quality be it the FPS rate or over all Graphics. With out doing any irreversible damage to the computer, ( due to lack of knowledge on my part)

In Games like Far Cry 3 i am have trouble with the Graphics. Im seeing Pixialtion and slow load times on distance trees or foliage.
(its very annoying..) The game runs fairly smooth with a constant 50 -60 fps rating on high settings... I have a 120hrz monitor so im not 100% if that to low or not... or if it should be higher.

Id like to play games like Coh2 And Rome 2 on the max it can be when its released. and of course most other games on max aswell...

What can i do what should i change, read ,buy ,fix ...?

Thank you Guys! Happy over clocking ! smile.gif

It's not your monitor. That's about the best you can get.

Is your cpu a non "k" version? If so I would say that's your problem

You can overclock your processor 4 bins above the turbo so it should give you 4GHz on all cores, 4.2GHz on 1/2 cores.

EDIT:

Why'd you get a Z77 board with a locked chip? I would return or sell the locked chip and pick up a K + a CM Hyper 212 or Thermalright True Spirit 140 - then learn how to overclock. Otherwise with a non-K chip, exepect 4.0GHz max, maybe 4.2GHz if you play with the BCLK and are lucky.

Also, you need to overclock that 680 to be able to run FC3 smoothly at max settings. You can use this: http://www.overclock.net/t/1265110/the-gtx-670-overclocking-master-guide guide because it's basically the same deal as overclocking a 680. Just read through, learn the terminology, then skim to the Quick Overclocking Section.

you should have no problems at all on far cry 3 with a gtx 680 running a single 1080p monitor. I would contact tech support and see if you can get some info from the game manufacturer. Also you should look at your drivers for the GPU and make sure you are running the correct ones for Far Cry 3 because the newest drivers arent always the best drivers.

You could look into getting a better CPU.

Are you running your games off a SSD? That has a huge impact on loading times and speed of the game.

good luck! thumb.gif

Actually no, a stock 680 @ 1080p with everything Maxed out in FC3 only yields about 30fps average (and of course look at the rig they are using, his is probably lower than that):

That's really not much, takes about 40FPS for this game to run smoothly maxed out. You just need to overclock that 680. There is nothing wrong with it.

(its very annoying..)

That specific issue is a game issue, and no amount of GPU power will fix it. That's just the way they implemented LOD.
