What cooler can fit into this? I know some top down blowers can fit but I was one that fits regularly and can fit without modding, I know the 212 can fit with slight modding.

Any heat sink that does does not exceed the height of 148mm can fit. I'd go with the Coolermaster N520 or the Noctua U9B cooler.
You can also find a 92mm water cooling rad and pump from Asetek. it s like the H60, but smaller.

the official specs say 135 but the absolute max is 148? And yeah I know about the small aio but those are really hard to come by.

If I were you I'd get the dual 140mm fan top-down Noctua cooler. It performs great and looks great.

If you want a fan on the side panel, then I could see a 135mm height max, but the case itself is 175mm wide. A 148mm heatsink is the max I'm sure, I got it from Fractal Design's Website.
Also you can find the Asetek 92mm watercooler on ebay for 85 bucks.

Im looking for something like the macho 120 which can fit in a sideway orientation, if that makes sense.

85 dollars. I could just get a 120mm AIO and put it in the front.

just giving you options of course redface.gif
I want to do something of the sort with an antec 920 cooling my GPU, and i'd like to do it in the Core 1000.
Whatever you choose, just remember that a huge CPU cooler like the Macho may prevent you from installing a 120mm side panel fan.

Well wink.gif I do. I once swaped the side panels to see if that fan at the side changed anything... well it did. My gfx card ran noticeably hotter. So I stick with a 120 on the side running at 5V.
I also have a Antec 620 mounted in the front which works quite all right. On the downside: you can't mount 3,5 drives on the side panel because of the Antec's radiator.

but you can always mount the drives in the bays above I assume. I think I'll just buy an aio
