Yeah, I thought the same thing.

The company that brought you games that look like Saturday morning childrens cartoons does photorealism? WTH?

Doesn't blizzard purposely not push the graphics envolope to make there games more appealing to the masses (aka people with bad computers)?

Yes, maybe they are coming out with something to break the mold. I hope so.

The whole point of Blizzard games is that they can be played on 7-year-old computers and dusty laptops, i.e. pretty much every child and their mother can play a Blizzard game without running into hardware limitations.

So what's the point of pushing graphics boundaries? WoW, Starcraft and D3 already look more than fine on max settings and WoW especially can make use of more powerful hardware. You don't need photorealistic visuals to be aesthetically pleasing....simple stuff like art direction, pallet variety, etc can make a game quite nice to look at (see Journey on PS3).

Dunno why Blizzard would hop onto a bandwagon that is already full with every other developer ever, one of the big reasons for their success is compatibility with super-low-end hardware tongue.gif
