China is actually facing this now... and they are forcing all fiber, I think.

https://www.straighttalk.com

sold at every walmart, in gsm and cdma

45 dollars a month, unlimited everything..speed throttle after 3gb..

Tmobile value package:

Unlimited Value—Talk + Text + 2GB of data (speed throttle after 2gb, no overages) $59.99

All these guys paying up to $100 for one phone don't know what they are doing or have some "discount for phone upgrades" plans

so don't think that your country is any cheaper, cause it isn't

His country is cheaper. His plan, at just north of $50, is very expensive. Most users are paying half that, he said. That's also for current generation phones. You don't get current high end phones with straighttalk.

Well, mine is expensive.

If you're willing to give up 4G speeds, price drops considerably:
http://www.oister.dk/mobilabonnementer/taletidsabonnementer/oister-3-timer/
3 hours talk, unlimited text, 6 GB data. $18.

If I actually wanted unlimited talk like in your examples, this:
http://www.oister.dk/mobilabonnementer/taletidsabonnementer/oister-fri-tale/
would give me unlimited talk, unlimited text, 6 GB data. $45.

So they give you 6gb data on "non 4g speeds" ?

The plans I gave are not "capped"..So you can go over 2gb, your speeds will just be reduced..

So theoretically you can say they are "6gb" just as well..

And your first plan is 22 dollars not 18..
The second plan is comparable to the straighttalk one I provided..straighttalk claims "unlimited data" at 45$..So already it beats your "hard cap of 6gb"

I don't know any plans with 180 minutes of talk time..so can't compare to that first one, which looks like a prepaid card...

You get whatever phone you put the sim card in...

What do you mean by "get current phones" ?

This is exactly why you're paying those high prices per phone, you're on those "discounted phone plans"

But no matter how you slice it, your definition or mine, there is no way I'm EVER (in my lifetime at least), going to say that having a cell phone or home access to broadband internet ISN'T a luxury.

MAYBE you will convince me that a "land line" and "dialup internet" ISN'T a luxury, but rather a necessity, but as of right now, neither of those are NEEDED TO STAY ALIVE, and certainly high speed broadband and cell phone isn't either.
