My Gigabyte 7950 Windforce came stock at 1000 MHz. Is this normal?

Hello. I just got my 7950 Windforce today. GV-R795WF3-3GD
Nice upgrade from my 6950.
I read that this card came pre-overclocked at 900MHz.
That's what it says on the box.900MHz.
I installed it and AMD Overdrive was already enabled. It was set to 1000MHz and 1250MHz for the memory.
I wanted to run a benchmark at stock speeds so I disabled the AMD Overdrive.
I started GPU-Z and it says the default clock is 1000MHz.
I'm going to attach a jpg of the GPU screen.
I noticed the BIOS version isn't listed at Gigabytes website.
I purchased this card new.
I ran 3dmark at 1000/1250 no voltage changes and had no problems.
I ran it at 1125/1400 no v change max of 64C and no problems
Any ideas why it might be saying it's stock at 1000MHz

I've been seeing people mention they got a card with a 1000mhz bios when it should have come with a 900mhz bios. I have the same Gigabyte card but it came with the 900mhz bios, consider yourself lucky I guess.

I don't know why they've been shipping cards like that though, maybe the people in charge figure what the hell since the new generation is right around the corner. Does yours have a 7970 pcb? Could be related.

This card has the same PCB as the F42/ F43 cards. It is just with a newer BIOS revision (FZ1). It also has 1.25 VDDC & 1.5 MVDDC & support Boost.
There is also F3 which has 1.25 VDDC & 1.6 MVDDC which works flawlessly for people with F2 BIOS.
I installed FZ1 on my card with no problems at all. My card comes originally with F42 bios...

That's good to hear. I'll have to look into finding out what the pcb is.
Thanks for answering my questions guys.

You can tell if it's a 7970 pcb if it's 8+6 pin power, from what Headlessknight said though I guess my speculation was incorrect.
