That could possibly work. If using the provided 120mm holes it would likely still clash with the 5.25 bay. A better option might be to line it up with the front 120mm mount and then screw through the honeycomb for the rest. thumb.gif

For reference, the fan that is shown in the picture is a 140mm.

I have an Arc Midi that I modded for a 360 + 240 and it fits perfectly. The 360 goes in the top, and I removed the drive cages by drilling out the handful of rivets that hold it in place. I also drilled ventilation holes so the frontmost fan in the 360 wouldn't be partially obscured. Came out pretty clean too for my first mod job, just eyeballed and drilled a continuation of the honeycomb pattern and countersunk the holes on both the interior and exterior of the case to remove burrs. The corner which would have been obscured otherwise is screwed in with one of the screws going through one of the holes I had created.

This was enabled by Fractal making the case a little wider than most, to give additional horizontal clearance between the bottom of the radiator on the roof and the motherboard. The radiator collided with my VRM heatsinks in my last case, the Define R2. As much as I love the case I feel Fractal missed an opportunity to just drill another few inches of ventilation holes. rolleyes.gif

So if a 240mm rad can fit at the top and front and 2x140mm fans can also fit, why do they advertise "up to 240mm rads" instead of "up to 280mm rads"???? Especially infront there would be nothing to worry about.... maybe at the top a 280mm rad with 140mm fans could hit mobo or ram coolers ok....

Any thoughts on that?

When they say "thick" rads will fit, do they mean like 5.5cm rad + 2x2.5cm push pull fans? (looking at HWLabs SR1 here).

A 280 rad may conflict with the drive bays up top. Fractal likes to push those rads/fans right up against the side of the cage, and I know if you cut out the drivebay a 360 fits(with drilling some extra holes in). It may be the same issue with 280 rads. You have to remember that the rads themselves are longer than the fans. In front, not sure, seems like you could fit just about anything you want in there. We'll see when the case comes out in(hopefully) a months time! thumb.gif

You are right, it will clash with the bays, atleast in the original Arc Midi. Even my 240 Coolgate radiator was a bit too long hitting the 5.25" bays so I had to use the hammer a little. biggrin.gif

@sikkly: You're also bang on the money. Besides, they advertised that even 60mm thick rads clears the motherboard nicely, but my Vengeance ram has like 1mm clearance to radiator. Any taller ram and 60mm thick radiator and you're screwed.

The Kraken x60 case compatibility list says the Arc Midi R2 is compatible. Take that for whatever it's worth.

I purchased the previous version last year due to its great design, but had to return it. I found the side panel never fitted back on properly once removed, one of the wires for the USB cable (at the port behind the front bezel) wasn't soldered in properly and the top panel screws were stripped. A lot of people who left feedback on Newegg seemed to have similar problems. In addition to the new features, I'm hoping the quality has improved over the previous version.

So Tinytomlogan did a pretty good video review of this case http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=SVqFb2eKN_4

With a little bit of effort you can get some pretty insane rad space in this thing. In the video he shows a 60mm XSPC rad in P/P mounted on top, it has about 45mm of room for ram clearance. I'm pretty excited for this case to come out, seems like it'll be able to house any project I'll do for quite a few years! thumb.gif
